Sen. Christine Radogno, a Republican senator from the 41st district, informed the assembled officials that she had met with Wu-Tang rapper Raekwon the Chef, who was performing in Sprinfield, Ill. on Tuesday (May 17). She went on to explain that he shared his financial advice with her, in regards to the state's $15 billion deficit.
"Some of you may know that last night Raekwon from the Wu-Tang Clan was in town, and I got some financial advice from him which I would like to share with all of you, 'cause it does seem quite relevant," Senator Radogno explained.
"Their [Wu-Tang's] advice to us is: The most precious thing in the world is financial security and well being of your family. You want to send your little ones to the best school and in the end you want to know you left them with peace of mind," the Senator continued, before quoting Method Man's infamous hook on 'C.R.E.A.M. (Cash Rules Everything Around Me),' from Wu-Tang's groundbreaking debut 'Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers).'
"Nowadays we all know that cash rules everything around us. Cream. Get the money. Dollar dollar bill, y'all. Thank you!"
