"I was supporting my album on Wayne's tour," Barker tells the BoomBox, just prior to making the official announcement about the Blink tour. "I hope to go back to supporting my album after that."
Barker's solo debut, 'Give the Drummer Some,' was released this past March. After providing the backbeat to numerous bands through the years, Barker called on hip-hop's A-list -- Wayne, Rick Ross, T.I., Snoop Dogg, Drake, Lupe Fiasco, Swizz Beatz, Game, Raekwon, Slaughterhouse, the Cool Kids, RZA, Ludacris, Pharrell, Clipse, Kid Cudi, Yelawolf, Bun B and Tech N9ne -- to help fill in the extra space. The collaboration resulted in a spot on Wayne's tour where he was even treated to one of Nicki Minaj's lap dances.
With Nicki Minaj's lap dance days over, Barker will likely make his tour with Blink a family affair, bringing his three children along for the ride. The children -- Landon, 7; Alabama, 6; and his step daughter Atiana, 12 -- joined their father on the I Am Still Music tour and have shown an interest in joining the business. "My son, he loves rapping, he loves playing the drum," Barker reveals. "They love singing so I definitely support them 100 percent. I try to expose them to what it is to help determine if they do want to do this or they don't."
My Chemical Romance's 2011 Honda Civic Tour kicks off Aug. 15 in Homdel, N.J., playing 40-dates round the country. The group however has not yet announced the release of a new album, but will reportedly debut new music while on tour.
