Bobby Brown Supports Whitney Houston During Rehab

Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston may no longer be married but that hasn't stopped the former New Edition member from supporting his ex-wife as she battles substance abuse.

Earlier this month, Houston enrolled in an outpatient rehabilitation program in California to combat her lengthy struggle with drugs and alcohol. While Brown has a new engagement to his manager Alicia Etheridge to focus on, the 42-year-old crooner is thinking positively about Houston's recovery.

"I haven't spoken to her yet, but Whitney is a great person and a strong woman, so I expect the best from her," he told Flavour magazine. "I wish her all of my love and all the greatness that she is. I just wish her the best."

Brown and Houston divorced in 2007, after experiencing a highly publicized 15-year marriage of ups and downs. Though the pop songstress is seeking treatment for her addictions, the 'My Prerogative' hitmaker is celebrating his sobriety. "I'm definitely in a better place in my life," Brown told the Boombox. "Six years sober from drugs. I'm just really grateful that I can get off the heroin, the crack, the coke.

Back in March, the former couple's daughter, Bobbi Kristina, 18, faced a drug scandal much like those her parents' have been involved in throughout their career. Tabloid paper the National Enquirer featured photos of Bobbi Kristina appearing to be snorting cocaine. While the media had a frenzy with the reports, she denied using the drug and claimed a person who was once close to her set her up to make it look like she was sniffing the illegal drug.

I am an old guy- 44 and I remember 25 years ago when whitney was "the bomb". It is sad to see someone fall so far, but we make our own beds. She was the Micheal Jordan of Music. She was young and beautiful once, but beauty really is only skin deep, and talent apparently has nothing to do with character or self-control.

"Did She Almost Have it All" seems a bit prophetic given her present circumstance

They're a sad bunch -- the houston-brown bunch. Even after all these years it is hard for me to wrap my mind around the fact that Whitney Houston is a dopefiend. It still makes no sense. I look at her old videos and see a woman too together and smart to ever let this happen. Then, I look at Bobby Brown in New Edition and And My Prerogative, Don't Be Cruel, Every Little Step and remember his charisma and swagger, that was only Bobby Brown. I truly love him and I can't blame him for what happened to Whitney. She was a grown, mature adult who obviously enjoyed getting high. Some people just like to get high. And this was two people who enjoyed getting high together and obviously apart. Sure, she could have married another type but she didn't and that's that. He is what he is and she is what she is. I really love them both and wish them all the best and most of all hoping they both continue to recover from their addictions and don't end up leaving this world prematurely because of them.

God is waiting for you. Time to take your place where God truly wants you to be. My Prayer for you is that you win this battle with the Devil and let God be who you Love above all others. Amen

We make choices in our lives. They are CHOICES. Some choose the low road, but it's because that's what they want. You are responsible for your actions, and you have to live with the consequences. Many well-off celebrities ruin their lives. What a waste...

Very few people "choose" the low road. Instead, they walk down a road and discover that that road has led them to low places that they never intended to go.

No one chooses to be a drug addict; they make a series of related choices and end up becoming a drug addict..

that douchebag needs to mind his business, he just wants to be the center of attention like he always wanted to be. Plus he is the one to be blame for Whitney's downfall!

I like how everyone wants to blame Bobby. She is the one who picked up the pipe, straw, needle, bottle, and whatever else. It was her responsibility to "Just Say No" and she didn't do that. And I would be willing to bet she knew what he was doing before they were married and she chose to marry him anyway. I'm not particularly fond of Bobby Brown but I am not going to villianize him for the choices she made.

I hope she can get it together. A lot of people miss her voice and seeing her. Bobby should think of her, if it wasn't for him we would have to wonder if this would of happened to her. She is still a beautiful woman and entertainer and I wish her the best.
