Joined by fellow Roots bassist Owen Biddle, Karmin and Questlove take a seat in front of the cameras to perform their version of Nicki Minaj's glossy hip-pop hit, 'Super Bass.' Before they get into the popular tune, Nick taps away at the piano, playing a classic Western saloon number. Amy interrupts, asking for her partner to "try something more modern."
Amy starts strumming away on her guitar, then belts out the opening lines of 'Super Bass. "This one is for the boys with the boomin' system/ Top down, AC with the coolin' system/ When he come up in the club he be blazin' up/ Got stacks on deck like he savin' up," she sings in her cheerfully animated tone. Nick supports his leading lady on piano and provides additional vocals, crooning on the chorus.
Then at 1:03, Questlove enters stage left, seated next to the cover song team as he taps away on the drums. Biddle adds a little more "boom, badoom" to the trio, rocking out on his electric bass guitar.
