The track, which is inspired by Eminem's poignant hit 'Stan,' finds Weezy following a similar formula as the Detroit MC, on the piano-heavy single, produced by Swizz Beatz. Yet unlike Stan, the song begins, rather than ends, with Wayne's letter to his fan. "Dear Anne, my number one fan/ I write you this letter, I hope everything's grand/ I hope everyone's good, I hope everyone's praying/ I hope -- hold up, baby, let me switch hands," he raps behind female vocals that sound similar to those laid down by Dido on Em's 'Stan.'
"See, lately I been dealing with a lot of s---/ And it's burning me and I can't get out of this pan/ Every time I look there's a problem with this man/ But I ain't tryna expose, I'm just trying to expand/ But your support held me up like a kickstands/ And I'm also being more careful on how I pick friends," Weezy rhymes.
The beat was originally submitted to Em for his 'Relapse' album under the title 'Stan 2,' before it was handed over to Wayne. Swizzy reportedly gave the track to Wayne in exchange for an appearance on his forthcoming 'Haute Living' album. Although the song sounds single worthy, it will not appear on the New Orleans native's 'Tha Carter IV' album, which is due out at the end of summer.
