Drake's 'Marvin's Room' Covered by Singer JoJo -- Listen

FilmMagic (2)

In a surprising, and somewhat upsetting turn, former teenybopper JoJo, who got her start on 'America's Most Talented Kids,' has recorded a take on Drake's ode to drunk-dialing, 'Marvin's Room.'

Though the 20-year-old singer is not yet of legal drinking age, JoJo does her best to match Drake's alcohol-induced rambling with the female counterpart as she calls her ex-boyfriend to remind him of all the bonkers sex he's missing.

"I've been up three days, Adderol and Red Bull/ This call is a mistake, there's something strong in this water bottle," the former 'Kids Say the Darndest Things' contestant croons, before flipping Drizzy's hook. "F--- that new girl that you like so bad/ She's not crazy like me, I bet you like that/ F--- that new girl that's been in your bed/ And when you're in her I know I'm in your head."

While Drake nailed his introspective original, which will likely appear on his sophomore album, 'Take Care,' JoJo's attempt is not half-bad, and acts as an announcement from the younger singer, who is both shedding her "squeaky-clean teen" image, and proving herself capable of comfortably tackling somewhat darker subject matter, even if it makes some of us cringe.

Also, JoJo's version has already received about twice as many YouTube views (almost 3 million) as Drake's, in just one day.

I added this to my iPod and forgot it was on there. When it came up in rotation, I had to look at my iPod to really grasp that this was sweet JoJo. I was so excited to hear her say F*ck in a song. This girl has always had a great voice, but not the brashness needed in today's explicit culture. This gives me hope that she could do a Lily Allen-esque CD, and really make it work.
