"If it's anything, it's good pressure. It feels good that they're focusing on me right now," Simmons told the BoomBox. "My dad just really steps back; he's just supportive he lets me do what I do."
The 16-year-old signed with Atlantic Records earlier this year, dropped his first single 'Copy Paste,' last month, and plans on releasing two more singles before the album officially hits stores. After gaining a healthy amount of fan fare from his 'The First Flight' mixtape, Simmons is confident that his project will live up to the hype.
"It's just a whole lot of me but just extended to the next level," he says of his new material. "A lot of people are going to be shocked [by] what it went to from the mixtape, all the way until now. You honestly have to hear it to really grasp it, but I'm just so excited because I've reached a standard with my music that I'm so content."
Simmons' album is due out later this year. "We have a title, but I can't really say just yet," he says.
