Miraculously though, he did manage to release a new mixtape from the clink on Tuesday (July 5), entitled 'Writings on the Wall 2,' a sequel to his 2009 post-prison tape. The 19-track DJ Holiday-hosted release features top shelf guest features by 50 Cent, Yelawolf, Young Buck, Yo Gotti, YC and Jagged Edge, with production by Drumma Boy, Lex Luger, Shawty Redd, Southside, Zaytoven and more.
While the mixtape hardly treads new ground, it is the follow-up to the last time Gucci released a mixtape while in prison, declaring he'd never go back to prison -- for fans, any Gucci is better than no Gucci.
Incarcerated since April, after assaulting a woman after she allegedly refused his sexual proposition, the 'So Icy' rapper is still awaiting his release from Fulton County Jail, due to "procedural holdups," according to his lawyer Ashutosh Joshi.
