Rick Ross Gets Off in Dog Death Case, Lawsuit Dismissed

It turns out Rick Ross is out of the doghouse, at least for now. A lawsuit against the 'God Forgives, I Don't' rapper was dropped today (July 21), which claimed that earlier this year,
his three pitbulls mauled Banks, a Yorkshire Terrier owned by his neighbor.

According to TMZ, the judge ruled that Banks' owner, identified as Maria in court documents, failed to "properly serve Ross the suit," making the case null and void.

The lawsuit claims the three pitbulls escaped from Ross' Atlanta mansion before entering Maria's property and brutally attacking her dog. She demanded more than $15,000 in damages and fees for the incident that allegedly left her pup with four large bite wounds, which led to his eventual death.

Although the case was dismissed, Maria told TMZ that, "she isn't giving up... and vows to correct her mistake and eventually get justice for Banks."

Anyone who would bring race into this is not looking at the issue. The issue has nothing to do with race or ethnicity.
Our pets are worth NOTHING in a court of law. No matter if they die by a pit bull attack, at the hands of an animal abuser, or by an incompetent veterinarian, our pets HAVE NO VALUE (above"replacement" value) under our current laws.
Please support proposed legislation, "Gracie's Law." drafted by Kenneth Newman, DVM. It takes a brave individual to go against his ENTIRE profession to do what is right.

Check it out and tell me you have to this dog again for your next pet because YOU DON'T CARE. Everyone knows you can't control human behavior to keep these dogs from attacking and getting loose. Dogs live to try to be free and get loose. It happens and when it does it is horrible if it is a pitbull. The victims don't go away and The excuses are endless..Denial is not just a river in Egypt and the selfish people who have no positive groups to associate with hang on to this fad because they are insecure and stupid. Rehabilating pitbulls may be the stupid in vogue thing to do because of some stupid reality televsion shows but it is still causing serious injuries to humans far beyond anything a normal dog bite causes. Rehabilitating pitbulls is about as wise as Rehabiliating Pedophiles. Both are stupid ideas that put the public at serious risk. See what an animal behavorist says about the breed here

This is yet another story that emphasizes the need for our laws to change. Our pets are not chattel, they are family,. If you love your pets and consider them family members, please support "Gracie's Law".
Our judicial system will do nothing in cases like this until the laws change.

This is really sad. This sends a really bad example to youth. I imagine the paid the owner something under the table though to let it go. I tried to go to Subway yesterday. There in the parking lot was a pitbull running back and forth in the front seat of a 4 by 4 with the WINDOWS FULLY DOWN. I waited until the owners came out before I got out of my car cause I didn't want to take the chance of getting shredded. I see someone with a pitbull and I see STUPID and selfish. I know a lot of people who feel the same. It is not a hip symbol it is a I AM STUPID symbol.

Did you actually read the article? The woman filing suit did not drop it because "she got paid something under the table to let it go". The judge dismissed it because she didn't file the paperwork properly. She plans on re-filing. Considering she is "only" asking $15,000, I think if he wanted to have settled it so it would go away, the rapper would have done so already.

As a recuerer of pit bulls they are NOT vicious! They can be with other male dogs, male and male if same size, their bite is NO different, than any other breed, but where other dogs,. bite and bite in a fight, a pit bites ONCE and NEVER gives up.
