Beginning Mon., Aug. 15 through Wed., Aug. 31, the Muslim rapper will mark the holy month of Ramadan by distributing free meals to needy people throughout his hometown of Chicago.
The bespectacled MC aims to feed at least 100 individuals each day, serving up grub in the Windy City's Southside and West neighborhoods, according to the Chicago hip-hop blog Fake Shore Drive. The effort marks a collaboration between the Block by Block Initiative and the rapper's own Lupe Fiasco Foundation.
Meals will be available at the West Englewood Methodist Church and New Birth Christian Center. More information is available at the foundation's website.
Fiasco last released his third studio album, 'Lasers,' in March. The effort spawned the singles 'Words I Never Said' with Skyler Gray, 'The Show Goes On' and 'Out of My Head' featuring Trey Songz.
