Kanye West to Cover Amy Winehouse's 'Back to Black'

Well, who saw this coming (if it's true)?

According to the UK's Daily Mirror, Kanye West is recording a cover of Amy Winehouse's 'Back to Black.' A "source" says that the rapper is currently working on the track now and hopes to premiere it in London next month, where he'll be performing at the 160th anniversary for menswear company Moss Bros.

"It's pretty emotive," the source said. "It's Kanye singing from the heart -- with synthesisers."

If that's true, then we can probably expect something along the lines of Yeezy's 2008 album '808s & Heartbreak.' Earlier this month, West paid tribute to Winehouse, who passed away in July at the age of 27, by playing her songs 'Tears Dry on Their Own' and 'Back to Black' at the Big Chill festival.

"We went to a house party and I met this beautiful, amazing, talented and funny woman. This is in memory of her," he said before spinning the tracks, and followed it by asking the media to lighten up on the artists who are still with us.

IF YOU WANT TO "SING iT " FROM THE HEART ".....DO IT ACAPELLA OR ACOUSTIC ... NOT THROUGH A MACHINE but i don't think his voice could handle it otherwise

Well the hoopla is that Amy Winehouse really did have a classic voice before she ruined it. She was in a genres that were much greater than rap, and the fact of the matter is that Kanye or any rapper at that would really be tarnishing the music. Not her image, not her legacy but the music. If you ever have a chance listen to her music not that stupid Rehab song. I mean the Frank Sinatra covers and you will see what the big deal is.

Ahhh, Kanye West trying to make a buck now off of someone with talent who's dead because he has zero talent, and even less class. What a total tool.

Why would a person with so little talent want to cover someone who had so much? This is the equivalent of redoing all of Rembrandt's work, but with stick figures.

Im sorry but since when does being an ass make anyone less talented then they are. I say go Kenye West! I am not a huge fan of his kind of music but oddly enough I like what hes done. Whats wrong with him paying tribute? I dont think Amy would mind it.
