Lil Wayne Gets Stitches After Skateboard Fall in St. Louis

Lil Wayne's clothing choices as of late celebrate the skater lifestyle and he's no poser. The Young Money head honcho grabbed a deck and headed out to a skatepark in St. Louis, Mo., but unfortunately Weezy had a mishap while riding out on his board Sunday (Aug. 21).

The 28-year-old 'Tha Carter IV' creator visited DePaul Hospital upon receiving a gash over his left eye from a fall at the park, according to TMZ. Wayne, who was in St. Louis performing at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre Sunday night for his I Am Still Music tour, received nine stitches as a result of the accident.

A woman in the DePaul Health Center emergency room reported that she witnessed Lil Wayne and his entourage rushing by to get him treatment for his wound.

The '6 Foot 7 Foot' performer tweeted about his blunder Monday (Aug. 22). "The Lou was good but I busted my head at the sk8park! 9stitches! Gnarly gash over my left eye! Luv the people," he wrote.

Wayne's ninth studio album, 'Tha Carter IV,' is set for release Aug. 29. Following the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday (Aug. 28), the rapper will drop his opus at midnight digitally via iTunes, Amazon and other legal MP3 download sites. Wayne is up for Best Hip-Hop Video for '6 Foot 7 Foot' featuring Cory Gunz.
