Last week, the Washington, D.C., MC dropped 'The Eleven One Eleven Theory,' a free mixtape that proved popular enough to temporarily bring down the file-transfer site Hulkshare. Wale's web popularity is well documented -- he recently hit a million followers on Twitter -- and the collection surpassed 100,000 downloads mere hours after its release.
On Nov. 11, Wale returns with his second proper album, 'Ambition,' which he recently revealed will feature a collaboration with friend-turned-enemy-turned-friend-again Kid Cudi.
The rappers made peace via Twitter earlier this year after a highly public beef, and in the spirit of reconciliation, Wale invited Cudi to rap the hook on the album track 'Focused.'
"I never really thought we capitalized off what we had," Wale said in a recent interview with MTV News, explaining his rationale for letting bygones be bygones. "I sent him the beat, and we made this record I've been trying so hard to keep for myself for a long time."
After wrapping the Roc Nation Heineken DJ Lounge tour, which runs through the end of this month, Wale will promote 'Ambition' with a tour set to begin in September. Joining him on those dates will be Rick Ross, Lupe Fiasco, Meek Mill and Wiz Khalifia, according to a press release.
