Midway through her performance at the New York City installment of this year's Rock the Bells touring festival, Lauryn Hill introduced former band mate Pras Michel, who joined her in singing the hip-hop trio's hits 'Ready or Not' and 'Killing Me Softly.'
"They just turn up!" said Hill, who was on hand to perform her Grammy-winning album 'The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill' in its entirety. "That's how the Fugees do!"
Hill and Michel hadn't shared a stage since 2006, when the group broke up for a second time. The split wasn't exactly amicable, and Pras and Wyclef said at the time that their enigmatic band mate was in need of psychiatric help.
This time, there was no such drama -- just warm words from Pras, who congratulated Hill on recently giving birth to her sixth child.
While Pras' appearance is sure to reignite Fugees reunion rumors, Hill and Wyclef have been adamant in recent months that there are no plans to reform.
"When it comes to Lauryn and Pras, it's my childhood, they always bring me to that place," Wyclef told the BBC in January. "At the end of the day Pras is my brother and Lauryn is my sister, despite what the media say. The Fugees are not meant to be. We're rock stars from a locked group. You're going to have egos and differences but at the end of the day I love them both very much."
