Amy Winehouse's Family Will Do First Interview on 'Anderson'

AP

Amy Winehouse may be gone but her story still lives on through the family she left behind after her untimely death on July 23. In the first interview since her death, Winehouse's family will sit down with journalist Anderson Cooper for his new weekly syndicated talk show, 'Anderson,' which will premiere on the first episode on Sept. 12.

Cooper will hold a conversation with Winehouse's father, Mitch, mother, Janis, brother, Alex and her boyfriend, Reg Traviss. Though details of the interview have not been revealed, a discussion about the troubled singer's battle with drugs and alcohol will surely be the main topic.

On July 23, 2011, the 'Back to Black' songstress was found dead in her London home. Numerous reports suggested her cause of death was due to alcohol withdrawal, however, the family released the results of Winehouse's toxicology tests last month. At the time of her death, no illegal drugs were present in her system.

The interview with Amy Winehouse's family debuts Sept. 12. Check local listings here to find out when 'Anderson' airs.

I cannot believe all the horrible things you guys are saying and trying to bring religion into this tragic death of a very, very talented young woman. So you're all saying that you're all right and have never had any issues? I think not. She was CLEAN and had gotten thru a very hard struggle. God Bless her and her family. After all they were right about the toxicology reports so, Boo Ya!

The poor soul had it all. She didn't even know it. Drugs has taken over the world and we all need to face it. It is sad to see someone like her or a love one on drugs. I have many friends and love ones on drugs and drinks. These people are the kindest and loving people when they are not on this mess. People can always stand and throw stones at others. People can't see their own fouts. Amy's family should have stepped in and got her some help. They must be like all the others, out for her money. They turned their backs on her, and now look were she is at. She killed herself with drugs and she won't be seeing any peace, she will be in hell if you read your Bible. I hope her family can live with themselves not getting her the help she had need to get herself together.

YOu said she would be in Hell if you read your Bible. Jesus took away the keys of hell after His resurrection. Amy can still be saved when she learns the truth. Hell WILL be established for Satan and is demons. Itdoes not exit as of now. The Bible makes it clear that Satn is chained and bound as of now, but not in the hell you're referring to. Study the scriptures very closely before you put people in hell. You can't do that. None of us have that authority. In regards to who killed her or who should have helped,.how in the world do you blame anyone for her own decisons at nineteen? You said you have many friends and loved ones with problems...stop them. Surely you can save them! My point is Bonnie...You sound like a wonderful person.you really do...but you're demanding no sinful behavior from anyone. Are you a sinner? You know the scriptures?...Then you know we all are. Our good works are nothing but filthy rags to OUR LORD! Bless you

Google - Amy Winehouse falls apart on stage in belgrade and watch the two videos of her performing this summer. She was NOT drunk. This goes beyond drunk. They can say what they want about her not being on drugs when she died but the girl was definitely a drug addict and an alcoholic. What a waste of a life. She was very talented. Too bad someone couldn't save this girl. Her ex should be sent to prison for contributing in her death. He turned her on to hard drugs.

She was a drug addict and an alcoholic regardless of what her family says. Just watch the video where she performed just weeks before she died. She was clearly out of it and it wasn't alcohol. She couldn't remember her words, slurred, was about to fall over, scratching herself like crazy (sign of drug use such as meth) was booed and walked off the stage. She was a mess. Maybe she didn't die from "illegal drugs" but if she had prescriptions it is not considered illegal! She could have died from prescription drugs (not illegal if she has a prescription) that she abused.

what could this famiy possibly have to speak about? their daughter was a mess, and nothing they could say will change that. Maybe they just want to clear their own conscience since they obviously allowed her to get to that point to begin with, even the boyfriend. doesn't appear she had a very good support system. And before you criticize what I just said ,with the money this girl had they could have forced her into a facility against her will and had it pounded into her till she straightened up, at least she would be alive. I'd rather have a kid hate me for saving them than not have them at all. Maybe the folks are just cashing in one last time.

Wow, this is the first time I heard Valerie, my God, what a voice. I've only listened to some of her songs. I'm going to get her CD's because I just love what she does with her voice. It's just ashame she's gone!

Yes, an enormous shame. Everyone who knew her tells what a sweet person she was. Loved by family and friends...and fans. We all know people who have suffered from addiction. It's not a judgement call. It's about being able to help those caught in the grips. Amy's demons were simply addiction. From someone who has been there and was able to break away from the chains, I cry for her, understand her and pray for her eternal peace. Alcoholics Anonymous has saved my life. Not the "buy my book cures" or money hungry rehabs and "programs." When someone wants your money to help you...beware. A.A. is free, is in every town in every state, and is filled with sincere people who know how to get clean and sober and live happy healthy lives. I pray that everyone who needs it will find it. Amy was an immense talent and lovely woman who has left the world emptier without her.
