Nicki Minaj Sings 'Super Bass' With 8-Year-Old Fan on 'Ellen'

Nicki Minaj's unique personality has led some to describe her as "inimitable," but as it turns out, that's not quite right.

Last week, 8-year-old Sophia Grace Brownlee scored a viral hit with her YouTube cover of Nicki's 'Super Bass,' nailing both the nimble rap verses and big pop chorus. The performance landed the tiny singing sensation on today's (Oct. 12) episode of 'Ellen,' and as if a national TV appearance wasn't exciting enough, Sophia got the surprise of her young life when the wig-wearing MC herself emerged from backstage.

"Within five seconds of seeing this video I was calling everyone," the 'Pink Friday' creator told host Ellen Degeneres, describing Brownlee's YouTube clip, which has been viewed more than 7 million times. "I was also receiving a billion emails. Everyone was like, 'You have to see this little girl.'"

After Nicki big-ups Sophia's silent 5-year-old cousin Rosie Grace, calling the younger of the tutu-clad tykes a "hype girl," the hip-pop superstar offers the girls some valuable career advice.

"I just want you to stay in school," she says. "Music is beautiful, but stay in school, OK? Put your books first and singing second."

Nicki then joins Sophie for a 'Super Bass' duet, letting the young Barb bogart the spotlight. Princesses have got to stick together.

Yeeks....I just watched the video of this song, and I hope that Momma isn't letting her *watch* the song being performed! It's pretty suggestive for Sofia to be watching. The lyrics are bad enough, even though she doesn't understand them, but I wouldn't want her dancing or wanting to dress like the girls in the video! She's still precociously adorable and they were *both* hilarious in their YouTube video.....I thought her cousin was funny with those expressions she was making! I got so tickled!

Maybe it wasn't the most appropriate song for her to be singing, but c'mon.....how absolutely precious was this?! This little girl is not only very talented for her age, but she's so hilarious with her exuberance! Her little cousin was darling, too! Before this, I had only seen pictures of Nicki Minaj and thought "what a pretty lady!", but never had heard her music or knew anything about her (I'm 46!). I was very impressed that she took the time to make two little girls' dream come true and deliver such a positive message about putting school first. It would seem that she's not only lovely on the outside, but on the inside, as well......and she has a new (but older!) fan. This song is catchy! BTW: Thanks, "Dad", for making me cry, too! (LOL)

Nicki I really am loving you right now! That was awesome and goes to show you that you are becoming a role model for young ladies everywhere, PLEASE PLEASE don't take that for granite. We need POSITIVE role models for girls.

LOVE IT! I could watch this a hundred times and still get choked up! Sophia is a trip and Niki was so great to fly in to meet her and her cousin Rosie. Kudos to Ellen for making it happen! I love Ellen!

this was a great show...I think the best yet. Sophia Grace was so genuinely excited when Nicki Minaj walked out it had to me you smile. She had so much energy I think even her cousin was in awe of her. Great show. Lots of respect and love for Ellen and NM for making this little girls dream come true>
