The pair opened Friday's (Oct. 28) show with a run of songs -- 'H.A.M.,' 'Who Gon Stop Me,' 'Otis,' 'Welcome to the Jungle' and 'Gotta Have It' -- they recorded for their 'Watch the Throne' album. Before joining forces on a main stage, they rapped from separate platforms in the middle of the Philips Arena.
Down the stretch, Hova blazed through such hits as 'Hard Knock Life,' 'Izzo,' 'Empire State of Mind' and '99 Problems.' Yeezy, meanwhile, dropped 'Jesus Walks,' 'Monster' and 'Runaway,' among others.
Following Jay's 'Big Pimpin'', XXL reports, 'Ye ran onstage and told the Brooklyn hip-hop mogul how much he loves the song.
"I used to watch it on TV," West said, humbling himself before his mentor. "I used to look up to you. I listened to the lyrics. I try it. But then, you know what happens..."
With that, Kanye launched into 'Gold Digger,' one of the many tracks that established the Chi-Town producer as a superstar artist in his own right.
They kicked off the encore with 'Encore,' appropriately enough, which no doubt found Jay asking the ecstatic audience the most redundant question of the night: "Can I get an encore/ do you want more?"
