Drake Lists Little Brother in His Top 5 Favorite Albums

Gracing the cover of The Source Magazine's annual Power 30 issue, which hits newsstands on Nov. 15, Drake found time during his feature interview to discuss his top five favorite albums, making some surprising choices.

Attempting to qualify his picks by stating that his is a "young" list, Drizzy began by naming Jay-Z's 'Black' album and the Clipse's 'Lord Willing,' before continuing to reveal that a mixtape by indie rap heroes Little Brother had been "pivotal" in his life.

"This is not an album, but The Little Brother/[Mick] Boogie mixtape, that was like pivotal in my life," the Young Money rapper explained. "And then I would have to say, uh, I say [Biggie's] 'Life After Death.' And then I will say a toss up between [OutKast's] 'The Love Below' and 'Aquemini.'

Drake continued to list several other "definitive" albums which informed his sound, careful to differentiate them from from his "life changing" top five.

"That's life changing," he explained. "That's without, you know, [Lil Wayne's] 'Carter 2' and other things that pushed me to rap. Those were definitive albums that opened my sound. Oh, and Snoop Dogg, 'Doggystyle.' Those were just definitive albums that opened my mind to sound and melody and cadences and flows and you know. Those were like really important to me."

Drake's highly anticipated sophomore album 'Take Care' will be in stores on Nov. 15. Check out the tracklisting here.
