Amy Winehouse's 'Back to Black' Dress Heads to Auction

Amy Winehouse was never able to conquer her addictions, but now a piece of the late singer's clothing may help others avoid the same fate.

Later this month, the strapless white dress Winehouse wore on the U.K. cover of 'Back to Black,' the album that made her an international superstar, will go up for auction in London. The estimated $16,000 to $32,000 -- or £10,000 to £20,000 -- it's expected to fetch will benefit the Amy Winehouse Foundation, a charity her parents established to help vulnerable young people.

Winehouse wore the dress, designed by Disaya Sorakraikitikul, with a red belt and leopard-print shoes, and while the U.S. version of 'Back to Black' was issued with an alternate cover, the original remains an iconic image throughout Europe.

"What makes this particular dress so special is that it is an emblematic reminder of the magic voice and sublime talent of Amy Winehouse, a sound that resonates with an entire generation," said auctioneer Kerry Taylor.

Set for Nov. 29, the auction comes roughly four months after the 'Rehab' singer was found dead at her London flat. Last month, autopsy reports revealed that she died of excessive drinking.
