While the Peas have been rumored to be calling it quits for several months, the most damning reports came from television personality Wendy Williams, who recently claimed that Fergie was leaving the group to "focus on her family," and would be replaced by Ashanti.
"As a journalist you should check facts before spreading rumors," will tweeted Tuesday (Nov. 8), in response to Williams' claims. "Going to @bep twitter page to find out the truth is easy."
Wendy replied to will's tweet, offering a customary "how u doin'" and offering to make a correction on her next show.
"Thx will and how u doin'? Will address tomorrow during hot topics. xo," she wrote.
"Thank you for responding and helping me and my @bep family and our efforts to keep our fans worry free...#Blackeyedpeas4ever," will responded, concluding their short-lived feud.
Will has done his best to keep the lid on rumors of Fergie's departure via Twitter for several months now, even going so far as to refute a tweet from Kanye West, claiming the group was done.
"Maybe @kanyewest was stating the fact we will take a rest for a little bit...but we the @bep will never die...never...impossible," will.i.am wrote.
Fergie has yet to comment on the situation yet, but we're guessing an update of some kind will be forthcoming. What do you think?
