Kelly Rowland: Dad's Photo Triggers Breakdown

As AOL Music reports, Kelly Rowland has recently been quite vocal about her relationship with her estranged father -- or lack there of. Now the songstress has revealed that she was overwhelmed with emotion when she came across a magazine article featuring a photo of her father, whom she hasn't seen since she was 8 years old.

The 'X Factor' U.K. judge told Marie Claire U.K. that she hid in her TV studio dressing room and broke down in tears after accidentally unearthing her dad Christopher's photo. "A couple of weeks ago, I was reading through a magazine and I saw a picture of him. I didn't even know who it was until I read the caption. I completely lost it," the 30-year-old former Destiny's Child member revealed.

"My camp saw me disappear into the bathroom and they were like, 'What happened?' I didn't know there was so much emotion still there. You close so many different things of your life, and I like to shut them off and keep moving. But, in that moment, it just sucked everything out of me and I cried so hard," Rowland recalled.

Kelly's candid story continued, "There were so many different emotions -- confusion more than anything. I was like, 'Who is that?' I haven't seen him for 22 years." The songstress recently opened up about her troubled childhood in a single parent home, insisting she always longed for a "normal" family like the Huxtables in 'The Cosby Show'!

Matthew Knowles is Kelly's biological dad. Enough with tis nonsense. First her sister Beyonce is faking pregnancy and now Kelly is denying the rumors are true that Matthew Knowles is her daddy. Geez

Her father left her and her mother when she was 8 years old and she still hasan't come to terms with her emotions? She hasn't learned that nothing is forever? I can understand a few moments of emotion but she hid in her TV studio dressing room and broke down in tears? She needs to get help, fast.

What is your problem? The loss of a parent, no matter how it happens, has an enormous effect on a child throughout his or her life. When a parent walks out of the family when the children are young, the children always believe they were responsible. You never get over it, but I hope she takes this opportunity to get professional help to deal with the loss, and how it happened.

Bless her heart! One never knows when such emotions will come tumbling out. I understand what she is going through and am glad that she is letting her emotions out. Sharing them. It's alright to cry, be angry, frustrated, etc.. Her pain will, unfortunately, be with her throughout her life. She is stong and will handle it just fine I am sure but there will be those moments when the walls need to tumble and the tears come out. Hugs to her! She should be proud of herself for her strength!
