John Atterberry, 40, was reportedly behind the wheel of his silver Mercedes at approximately 10:19AM when 26-year-old Tyler Brehm opened fire on the corner of Sunset Boulevard and Vine Street. The gunman got off between nine and 12 shots before police closed in and shot him dead, ending the rampage.
Also fired on in the attack, which police have labeled a "random shooting," was a Hollywood Reporter photo editor on his way to work. While another man was grazed by a bullet, MSNBC reports, Atterberry was the only victim seriously injured.
Atterberry, who has also worked with the Spice Girls and Jessica Simpson, was taken to Cedar-Sinai Medical Center, where he remained as of Saturday evening.
