The Hit Squad Reunion Planned for 2012, Erick Sermon In

Hip-hop collective the Hit Squad are gearing up for a reunion on Feb. 24 at the Best Buy Theater, Brooklyn Vegan reports.

The group, which was comprised of EPMD members Erick Sermon and Parish Smith, and rappers like Redman, K-Solo, Keith Murray and Das EFX, was active between the years of 1990 and 1993. The Hit Squad disbanded due to tensions within EPMD.

Details on the reunion have the aforementioned artists uniting one stage, however, former members Hurricane G or Knucklehedz won't join the event. Sermon will still take part in the rap spectacle despite the recent heart attack he suffered in November.

Tickets to the event will go on sale this Sat., Dec.r 16. It is unclear at this point whether the reunion will be extended beyond this one show. However, things have been smoothed over within EPMD and the duo has been functionally reunited since 2006, so that is one hurdle cleared.

I gots my britches low and my cap to the side.......
Trying to mumble nonsense, my stupidity don't hide.
Then I pop a cap in my brothers butt.......
Everyone hears my words and they say "What?"
Where'd my generation go? What is the reason..........?
Oh...they all dead or dying in prison.

It's funny how the media considers rap the music EVERYONE listens to. I guess EVERYONE lives on the east and west coasts only. In my nine years since I moved away from the DC area (Thank God!!) I haven't heard one rap song from anyones radio...but of course I'm now in WV...not too many people around here are into that. (Again, thank God!!) Just picturing any of these groups still around for their 50th years..(if they live that long)...trying to rhyme at 80....ROFLMAO

Why bother commenting if you are just going to spew negativity. So you don't like rap music, a lot of people do! Ignore postings about rap music and move on. There is enough negativity and ignorance in the world without you adding yours!

I don't like many rap lyrics, however, there is no need for rascist comments.

Oh great, some smelly inbred spooks are reuniting to bark out their violent ebonics to a drumbeat. Jiggs aren't much more civilized than their spearchucking cousins in Africa.
