West, who's been absent from the Twitter spectrum as of late, has kicked off a tweeting spree recently and shared some sentiments with his more than 5 million followers about manning the turntables as he welcomes 2012. "I kinda wanna DJ somewhere this New Years," he wrote Tuesday (Dec. 27).
While most know the 34-year-old for his beatmaking abilities and famous outbursts, less are familiar with his skills as a DJ. West showcased his mastering on Serato in London last week, when he deejayed his Christmas party at the Le Baron London nightclub. During his set, the 'Watch the Throne' creator, who closed out the LP's supporting tour this month with Jay-Z, revealed new material set to appear on the G.O.O.D. Music compilation album he discussed in October.
As he preps a new solo album and his collaboration project, West's new DJ gig seems to be on his list of priorities. But it's hard to figure out if the emotive MC is just toying with the idea or really pondering a career as a mixmaster when he tweets and refers to himself with a unique DJ moniker similar to Metta World Peace -- Los Angeles Lakers basketball player Ron Artest changed his name to Metta World Peace earlier this year.
"My New Years DJ name is gone be YEEZY WORLD PEACE! If you book me you have to put YEEZY WORLD PEACE on the E-vite. Or I ain't spinning," West tweeted.
Chances are Yeezy's just joking about his DJ name, but we're sure he'll supply the beats at a hotspot come New Year's Eve. What do you think the rapper-turned-DJ newcomer should call himself?
