Joining Busta Rhymes and Mystikal as newcomers to the already stacked lineup is 'American Idol' finalist Chris Richardson, a pop artist who recently contributed vocals on Tyga's 'Far Away' single, after appearing on sixth season of 'Idol.'
"He's a special talent. He's definitely a sensational artist on our brand, YMCMB," Birdman revealed in a new video, announcing the signing.
"Somebody who knew him, knew us and connected us," he added, of the unlikely connection that began out of respect for the 'Idol' contestant's vocal abilities. "That"s how this started, us watching his talent on TV."
The 27-year-old Virginia crooner is scheduled to release his debut in May.
"Being part of this team, I'm really, really family oriented so just having the camaraderie of everybody at this label is something so special," Richardson explained. "I can't really explain it, but it definitely is inspiring. Every day I come into the studio and I go until I stop, really. I'm so inspired to all my label mates, everybody here are still here doing the same thing."
Chris Richardson was a contestant on Season 6 of 'American Idol.'
