The 28-year-old suspect, born Vinson Hardimon, was placed back into custody at the Fulton County Jail. He currently faces charges of murder and gun possession.
On Dec. 16, Slim Dunkin was preparing for his cameo in Gucci Mane and V-Nasty's video, 'Push Ups,' off their joint album 'BAYTL.' Dunkin, born Mario Hamilton, showcased verses on the track that earned him a spot in the visuals. Before starring in the video, the rapper and Young Vito were at a recording studio. Apparently the two argued over candy, which led to a physical confrontation that resulted in Dunkin's death.
Det. David Quinn told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that there are several factors proving Young Vito's guilt and presence at the scene of the crime. "His laptop was left behind with his name on it," Quinn revealed. "And his name was on the dry-erase board as next up to rap."
Ten days after Slim Dunkin's murder, Vito walked into an Atlanta police station and turned himself over to authorities for questioning. When he appeared in front of cops, he had shaved off the dreadlocks and facial hair seen in various photos posted on the Internet and in wanted posters throughout the city of Atlanta.
Young Vito has a history of violence and arrests, his most recent being April 2011, when he was charged with aggravated assault, cruelty to children and gun offenses.
