According to the New York Daily News, the 36-year-old father of three, who went to prison in June 2011, was inspired to continue his education after speaking with Dennis Kozlowski, an inmate and former Tyco International CEO who is serving eight to 25 years for using the company's money as his own.
"I was studying for my GED and Koz came in and talked to me and said, if you need any help, let me know," the rapper revealed.
The Queens native, who has been involved in beefs with artists like 50 Cent, subsequently earned his GED and will begin college-level courses this month.
Ja Rule will release his seventh studio album, 'Pain Is Love 2,' Feb. 28. The project is the follow-up to his 2001 LP 'Pain Is Love.'
