Chris Brown, Grammys 2012: Singer Wins Best R&B Album

Kelly Price, Ledisi, Chris Brown, El DeBarge and R. Kelly all competed in the Best R&B Album category at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards Sunday night (Feb. 12), however, Brown went home with the coveted award for his fourth studio album, 'F.A.M.E.'

The 22-year-old R&B singer walked up to the podium to accept his award, presented by rapper Common and actress Taraji P. Henson, dressed in a black leather jacket and black button down shirt, which was opened wide to show off his chest tattoos.

"First and foremost I just got to thank God," Brown said with a Grammy award in his hand. The Virginia native admitted he was "nervous" and made his acceptance speech brief as a result.

"I want to thank the Grammys," he shared. "Team Breezy, this is all for you. We got one."

'F.A.M.E.,' released in 2011, featured a bevy of hits from the crooner, including his Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes-assisted 'Look at Me Now,' 'Deuces,' 'Beautiful People' and 'Yeah 3X.'

I watched the show. Yawn. Just another industry patting itself on the back, and letting poor behavior off the hook. Just as long as it means publicity ( even bad press is better than no press ) , and revenue keeps coming in, they'll ignore the punks and wife/girlfriend abusers and the drugs. If you want the record com-panies to rein in the stupidity and actually put out good music, don't just talk about it. Stop buying CDs. Don't go to concerts. Skip the downloads. Otherwise, you're just another enabler. It's all becoming homogenized, anyway. Music is starting to sound the same. The variety of styles is fading away. In 10 years, everything will be on Top 40/pop radio, anyway.

"9 times out of 10 she probably did something to warrant the beating in the first place"??? Seriously? Did you say that with a straight face? What a loser you are.

All I can figure is the idiot has a friend, that is a higher up with the Grammy's. Not only is his voice boring, his show sucked and his song was??? What the heck was that song about? It made no sense. Lame at best. Watching was dreadful, I had to change the channel until it was over. The fact he was an abuser (and yea, I don't care if he's changed, it is what it is, he should first have to prove himself) should have counted him out. Hollywood is a bunch of freaks...90% of them...nobody ever pays the price for the crap they do there.

Good Day Suzie-Q

He didn't sing. He was lipsyncing. Didn't they expose Milli Vannilli for that years ago? Another abuser being glorified. Rhianna better be careful. She looked stoned last night. After Chris Brown showed his ass on the today show you would think that the Grammy board would have not allowed the nomination.

What a piece of crap he is. I cannot believe that the Grammys gave him an award. I turned the show off after I saw that. I will never watch again because they obviously only care about the music, not the performer.

But that's what they are celebrating...the music. People make mistakes, but he won the award based on his music not behavior. It's a little drastic to " never watch again". Would everyone have reacted this way had R. Kelly won?
