Jay-Z, Beyonce Skip 2012 Grammys to Eat Pizza in Brooklyn

As reported by AOL Music, last night's Grammy Awards ceremony brought out all the stars, but there was one music industry power couple that was noticeably missing from Sunday's festivities (Feb. 12). No, not Kanye West and Jay-Z -- Beyonce and Jay-Z! The new parents were no-shows at the music industry's biggest night, despite both being nominated for multiple awards.

So where was our favorite musical couple? At home in New York having a shockingly normal Sunday evening. Bey and Jay actually ditched the Grammys this year so they could have a date night at their favorite pizza parlor in Hov's native Brooklyn!

The happy duo left baby Blue Ivy at home and stepped out for a romantic night alone! Bey and Jay took a Maybach from their Tribeca neighborhood home in downtown Manhattan to the popular pizzeria Lucali in the Carroll Gardens area of Brooklyn.

A source tells Us Weekly that Hov and Beyonce "were just like a regular couple talking and whatnot" -- so much so that they went unnoticed by the other patrons (except the witness, that is). "They were sitting in front of the place closer to where they make the pizza," shares the source. When it came time for the couple to return home to Baby Blue, Beyonce made sure to say goodbye to the restaurant owner and their waitress. How sweet!

Jay, who was nominated for a total of four Grammy awards last night, earned two wins, Best Rap Album and Best Recording Package, for his 'Watch the Throne' collaboration with Kanye. Bey came up empty handed, but her Andre 3000-assisted 'Party' was nominated for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration, and her 'I Am... World Tour' concert visuals were up for Best Long Form Music Video.

I didn't miss either of them!! Everything is NOT all about Jay-Z and/or Beyonce. Since they just had a baby, they need to stay home!!

What lies, she was mad because she wasn't picked to sing the tribute to Whitney which would have been the worst thing the Grammy's could have ever done. The one picked (J-HUD) was the ONLY one who could have done it justice which she did... Kudo's to the Grammy's for a GREAT choice and may they remember their moves this year next year!!!

Jennifer Hudson is so good singing Whitney...she wasn't able to do it that night though, think she was too overwhelmed...when you do Whitney you have to bring it...and she usually 'brings it'....but, you could see how emotional she was...and she didn't want to sound like her as much as she wanted to honor her...I commend her for that....lovely ...just the right tone....don't think Beyonce could have managed it nearly as well

Don't they have to RSVP a couple of weeks before an event, just like going to a wedding? How silly some people are, saying they didn't to be there because Jennifer Hudson was singing in tribute to Whitney. That was done last minute. Beyonce just had a baby. She needs to take it easy and get back into a routine that includes the baby (even if they have a nanny for her). As for going out to have some pizza and leaving the baby home, some new parents are blessed to have someone (relative or have the nanny) to come and say "go spend a little time together, I will take care of the baby for a couple of hours."

Is Kanye West a follower? Seems he kisses Bouncy and Jnose buts on every end. They probably want to tell him to take a hike, just dont know how to say it to not hurt his feelings. Maybe Jay-Z has plans to be our next Pres when President Obama comes out in the next 4 years, You Think? Maybe they had that talk over pizza. I hear he's exceptionally smart!

Didn't notice if they were there, That is Jay-Z or Beyounce, My thoughts were there with those who were morning the passing of Whitney Houston. I saw so many great people, Stevie Wonder, Jennifer Hudson, LL Cool J, Rhianna, Christ, so many more inspirationals, there was no space to think of who was there and not there. It was beautiful and sad in one.

No one would have asked them to stay for the after party, just showing their respects would have been nice. If they would have said that Jay-Z was going to have surgery on his nose, Then, that would have been exceptable or if something had happen to a family member that would have been more exceptable but, to go out and eat pizza? They both are nasty, and a new baby has nothing to do with it! They left the baby to go eat Pizza!
