Chris Brown, Jean Baptiste: Singer Is 'Better Human Being,' Touches on 'Rock Melodies'

The public is still talking about Chris Brown's return to the Grammy's over the weekend. With his handful of high-energy performances and win for Best R&B Album, it seems any ill feelings left over from his 2009 Grammy-weekend debacle -- the highly publicized incident in which he beat up then-girlfriend Rihanna -- may be on their way out the door.

Since the release of his 'F.A.M.E.' album in 2011, Brown, 22, has tried his best to shift the public's focus away from his personal life and solely onto his music. This is a move that his producer, Jean Baptiste -- he's produced 'Look at Me Now,' 'She Ain't You' and 'Beautiful People' off 'F.A.M.E.' -- says will pay off on his sixth release, 'Fortune,' due out next month.

"He's a better human being," Baptiste tells The BoomBox, explaining how the 'Turn Up the Music' crooner has changed over the past year.

"He's growing leaps and bounds as far as his artistry and craft," Baptiste adds. "He's producing. He's writing ... He's not writing with a pen; he's just going in and freestyling hit records. He's the closest thing we have to a young Michael Jackson."

Baptiste, who's crafting records for Brown's fifth LP, reveals the singer will continue to blur the lines between genres and showcase his love for different kinds of music. Like many artists in his lane, Brown seeks to place himself in more than one musical box.

People who judge Chris Brown are ignorant. Chris paid his duties so instead of judging his flaws every day look yourself into a mirror and claim you're perfect. As far the grammys concerned awards are based on music ability not behavior cuz if so no artists would earn an awards they're all made mistakes.

Enough already of course I don't uphold any kind of violence but he isn't the first one to make a mistake he went to rehab so if he's truely got help for his anger problems are we going to punish the guy for the rest of his life?

The next album will be his 5th not is 6th.

And as for as ppl leaving Chris Brown alone, that's not true. Just the other day some country singer named Miranda Lambert said that he should be shot and the media didn't even pick up on her threat.

So the backlash is still severe. Which is pretty ridiculous because I've yet to find a person who has lead a perfect life, so who are they to judge?
