Nick Cannon has been plagued with health problems over the last two months. First, he was hospitalized for severe kidney problems during the Christmas 2011 holiday, then news broke Thursday (Feb. 16) that he was again rushed to the hospital after experiencing pains in his chest and right arm. As a result, the rapper-turned-radio and television host was diagnosed with blood clots.

All of the strain on his body as of late has caused the 31-year-old father of two to quit his morning radio show gig, Rolling With Nick Cannon, on WXRK 92.3 NOW.

"Under doctor's orders, I have been asked to cut back on some of my professional commitments to allow my body to get the rest it needs to keep up with the demands of my multitasking schedule," Cannon said in a statement.

Cannon, who's married to Mariah Carey, will continue to host the syndicated radio show Cannon's Countdown in addition to his main TV hosting duties on 'America's Got Talent.'

Besides news of his resignation, he also compared himself to one lauded superhero in the statement. "Even Superman has to sleep," he said.

The entertainer began working for WXRK in January 2010.
