The mixtape features a "rendition" -- along with an uncleared sample -- of the Eagles' 1977 classic 'Hotel California' on a track called 'American Wedding.' The song gained the attention of Eagles' singer Don Henley, who is apparently less-than-thrilled.
"Don Henley is apparently intimidated by my rendition of 'Hotel California,'" Ocean wrote on his Tumblr. "He threatened to sue if I perform it again. I think it's f---in' awesome."
Ocean is a member of upstart Los Angeles skate-rap crew OFWGKTA -- or simply Odd Future -- who are known for their riot-inciting antics. It's likely that the 24-year-old crooner will perform some version of 'American Wedding' at Coachella in April. Although 'Nostalgia, Ultra' was never commercially released, the track has been taken down from YouTube, "due to a copyright claim by Warner Music Group."
Meanwhile, Ocean has been in the kitchen, baking "sonic goodies" for his Def Jam debut, and will be appearing on Odd Future's 'The OF Tape Vol. 2,' which features new material by Tyler, The Creator and co., and hits shelves on March 20. The release comes five days before Odd Future's sketch comedy show, 'Loiter Squad,' premieres on Adult Swim.
