Kony 2012: Emeli Sande, La Toya Jackson, DJ Enuff, Joell Ortiz Support

This week, music fans everywhere are sure to have seen their favorite artists take to Twitter and Facebook to support 'Kony 2012,' a video that aims to make Joseph Kony a widespread name to raise support for his arrest and set a precedent for international justice. Emeli Sande, La Toya Jackson, DJ Enuff and Joell Ortiz, among other hip-hop and R&B major players, have spread the message of the film and campaign.

Filmmaker Jason Russell, alongside his toddler son Gavin, tell the story of a boy named Jacob throughout the 30-minute clip. When they met 10 years ago in Uganda, Africa, Jacob was "running for his life, due to Joseph Kony, leader of the African rebel group L.R.A. -- Lord's Resistance Army.

Jacob shares his thoughts and life experiences in the film, created by an organization called Invisible Children. Afraid of being abducted by the African rebels and witnessing his own brother's murder at their hands, he has been on the run for most of his life.

For 26 years, Kony has been kidnapping children into his rebel group, according to Jacob Russell. His mission is to finally stop him. Supporters can sign a pledge, purchase a bracelet and action kit or sign up for Tri to donate a few dollars a month to join the army of peace at Kony2012.com.
