Keri Hilson wants her fans across the country to get lost in a good book. The Grammy-nominated songstress has partnered with DoSomething.org in an effort to motivate young people to take part in the Epic Book Drive. From now until May 18, she's urging students to lead book drives in their schools and communities.

According to the program, 61 percent of low-income families have no age-appropriate books for their children. Hilson, 29, is using her star power to bring attention to the startling statistic. The No Boys Allowed entertainer created a video public service announcement -- seen below -- to keep a focus on the Epic Book Drive.

"Joining DoSomething.org's newest effort to provide for people in need with Epic Book Drive was the easiest decision ever," Hilson says of her role with the program. "I truly believe providing access to those who want to learn is the key to bettering lives around the country. And helping kids find healthy outlets, such as books, has always been a passion of mine. So my involvement here is a natural fit."

Hilson encourages kids of all ages to put their collection of used or unused books to good use by registering at DoSomething.org/epic.
