The former Fugee has done just that, and yesterday, he took to Twitter to unveil "Justice (If You're 17)," a tribute song (listen below) written about the fallen teen. Recorded with Prescribed and J. Williams, the track is available as a free download, and a video is expected later this month.
"If you're 17 with a hoodie on / watch out for the neighborhood watcher," Wyclef warns, employing a drum machine and guitar to give the song his signature reggae-inflected hip-hop feel.
"He could have been the next president / He could have been the next Steve Jobs," Clef sings later, mourning Trayvon's death before leaving teens everywhere with a positive message: "Fight with your mind / stronger than arms."
