Everything Rick Ross does is a grand affair. Where other artists rely on publicists to send out a press release on their newest ventures, Ricky Rozay opted to hold a press conference in New York City Wednesday afternoon (May 2) to unveil some of his forthcoming efforts. Filled with the likes of Diddy, Swizz Beatz, Lyor Cohen, French Montana, Meek Mill and Wale, the Rich Forever creator announced the latest signing to his Maybach Music Group empire: singer Omarion.

Rap Radar head Elliott Wilson opened up the event, prefacing a Dre Films-directed visual, which showcased the "Maybach Music" rhymer and the entire MMG roster in action, by providing details as to why the conference was held. "Everything Ross does is big," he shared. "We've seen that throughout his career."

Lyor Cohen, chairman and CEO of Warner Music Group, entered the room to speak about Ross' work ethic. The major label is the home of the rapper's imprint. "The possibilities that Rick and MMG will bring is unprecedented in my opinion," Cohen stated. "There's no question this man is unstoppable. He's not caught up in the bullshit the people and executives in this industry get caught up in. He reminded me he has the biggest office in the world: the streets."

Swizz Beatz, who recently partnered with Reebok, stepped up to the podium next to announce that the Miami rap don would "lead the big and tall [clothing] movement" for the company. Ross' former manager Diddy then shared his respect for the rapper and his talent as a brand builder. "Every time you hear that Australian girl say, 'Maybach Music,' it's like your dick gets hard," Diddy admitted. "My dick gets hard."

Once Rick Ross' colleagues had their moment to give praises, Wale, Meek and French offered brief yet significant hip-hop news. Wale announced the MMG sophomore compilation Self Made Vol. 2 drops June 26. "This is a real body of work," he stated. The D.C. native will also release his third album the first week of January 2013.

Meek revealed his debut LP, Dreams and Nightmares, arrives Aug. 28. "[The album] gives you both sides of my story," he said. "Dreaming of driving cars, exploring the world and the nightmares is me being in the streets and in jail. Everybody has both dreams and nightmares in life and can relate." French Montana was also given a platform to share news his debut album, Excuse My French, was coming July 17. His first single, "Pop Dat," will feature Lil Wayne and Uncle Luke.

God Forgives, I Don't was the next topic of conversation, with Ross stating the project will be delivered to the masses July 31. "It's a very dark story," the MC revealed. "It's extremely lyrical. The collaborations, it's gonna surprise a few of you guys. Nothing that's been released will be on the album. Expect all new material."

Finally the reason why a jam-packed room of journalists, bloggers, photographers and industry professionals was revealed. Ross welcomed Omarion to the team, officially announcing the newest member to MMG. "Today I become a made man," said the singer, who was once a member of boy band B2K. "Understand I never been a fan of popular opinion but understand what it is. It's Maybach Music."

Before the MMG head honcho signed Omarion, he flew him to Miami, heard "a dozen records," shot a video and had a conversation about his career. "The homie is phenomenal," Ross admitted. "He's an actor, he's a writer. His dancing is phenomenal. He's the best artist to kick the door open with."

Omarion's first project as an MMG signee is "Let's Talk," a tune featuring Rick Ross and sampling tracks from Salt-n-Pepa and Notorious B.I.G.
