Jay-Z Supports Gay Marriage, Calls Obama's Endorsement 'The Right Thing to Do as a Human Being'

If Jay-Z succeeds in booking President Obama for his two-day Budweiser Made in America festival, set to go down in Philly over Labor Day weekend, Hova and the POTUS will have at least one thing to chat about backstage: their shared support of gay marriage.

Speaking with CNN's Poppy Harlow, Jay-Z said he believes gay people should have the right to get married, echoing statements Obama made last week.

"I've always thought it as something that was still holding the country back," the rapper said. "What people do in their own homes is their business, and you can choose to love whoever you love. That's their business. It's no different than discriminating against blacks. It's discrimination, plain and simple."

Some pundits have suggested that Obama's stance will alienate socially conservative members of the black community, but Jay says there's more at stake than the election.

"It's really not about votes," he said. "It's about people.

"I think it's the right thing to do as a human being," he added.

The more celebrities talk about praising Obama for this last minute decision about gay marriage, the more they prove how very out of touch they are. They obviously don't keep themselves informed about their leader or they'd have picked up on his phoney endorcement of gay marriage on day one ... which was just last week by the way. If Obama truly endorced or supported gay marriage, he never would have said (up until last week) that marriage = 1 man + 1 woman and he would have pushed for accetance of gay marriage on a federal level back when the Democrats had full control. I've come to the decision that whenever a celebrity supports a politician, I just call them an idiot and ignore it. Really? How much do celebrities honestly know about Obama? I'm willing to host a celebrity political game show to prove to the nation ... they don't know squat!
