The former Fugees member is charged with three counts for failing to file income taxes in 2005, 2006 and 2007, according to U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman.
For each count, Hill, who hails from South Orange, N.J., faces a maximum penalty of a year in prison and a $100,000 fine -- that's three years in jail and $300,000.
Her attorney, Nathan Hochman of Bingham McCutchen, didn't immediately respond to messages seeking comment about the matter, reports The Star-Ledger.
She is set to appear before a judge to face the three charges on June 29.
