Jay-Z Interrupts Kanye West's Video of the Year Acceptance Speech at 2012 BET Awards

Jay-Z decided to have some fun at the expense of his rap brother Kanye West Sunday night (July 1) at the 2012 BET Awards, as the two accepted the award for Video of the Year for their "Otis" visuals. They were also nominated for their Watch the Throne hit "N----s in Paris."

Hov stepped up to the mic first, apparently waiting for the audience to give him a warm reception. "That's my money move," he joked. "Even if you didn't clap, I was gonna wait 'til you did."

He went on to thank BET for the honor and then passed the spotlight over to West, who began to express his own gratitude for the recognition. However, Hov dished out some comedic entertainment when he stopped the Chitown rhymer in his tracks.

"Excuse me Kanye, I'm gonna let you continue," Jay-Z said with a laugh, poking fun at West's spotlight-stealing moment at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards when he interrupted Taylor Swift's speech. West couldn't contain his own laughter and chuckled to himself before finishing his acceptance speech for their "Otis" win.

"Thank you for letting us push the envelope, BET," West stated. "We put in so many hours to bring you the best product possible. We don't take this for granted. We couldn't do this without [our label]. I want to thank BET cause I never do that."

Jamie Foxx presented the award to the Watch the Throne creators and before he announced the two had won, he joked that there was going to be "some arguments in the house," considering Jay-Z beat his wife Beyonce in the category for her videos "Countdown" and "Love on Top." Usher was also nominated in the category for "Climax."
