Usher's Stepson to Be Taken Off Life Support? Family's Insurance Reportedly Running Out

Usher's 11-year-old stepson, Kile Glover, may soon be taken off life support, TMZ reports, as the family has nearly reached the limits of its insurance coverage.

While Kile's mother -- Usher's ex-wife, Tameka Foster -- still hopes her son will recover from last week's tragic jet ski accident, a mishap in Atlanta's Lake Lanier that left him brain dead, she may have to pull the plug as early as next month, according to the gossip site.

The insurance company evidently hasn't set a fixed deadline, but source say coverage will run for a "a couple months ... tops." Usher has apparently provided moral support for his ex and her family, but TMZ claims the R&B superstar hasn't offered to pay for medical expenses. Foster apparently doesn't view the singer as "a viable financial option."

Usher helped raise Kile for several years prior to the couple's divorce in 2009. Usher and Foster have been at odds ever since, though he's said to have chartered her a plane in the aftermath of the accident and rushed to Atlanta to join the family at the hospital.

The hospital will absolutely NOT keep this poor boy still on a vent if he has indeed benn declared brain dead. The most they would allow is 48 hrs. 72 max. This just does not happen unless they have decided to give the gift of life though Organ donation. Insurance or his willing to pay have absolutely nothing to do with this.

the right wing is outraged when someone decides the best thing to do is take someone off life support, but when a child must be removed due to the inability to afford it,even when you have health insurance, they have nothing to say about that... life is sacred... if it gives them a chance to be on the high horse

Now here's another real shock ! Let your son die because your insurance is running out.....SERIOUSLY ! As if being being overpaid for years for being a underperforming " singer " isn't enough to make us all hurl. You pal are pathetic. Use some of your undeserved money people have given you as we all know you can't take it with us. So sad dude.

Usher is not a cold hearted person, I think he will help his exwife with the medical expences. My condolences goes out to the child's family, may he rest in peace.

I don't believe it's the hospital making that call, I believe the insurance company is, so if his Mother doesn't agree then she will be held responsible for the costs to keep the boy connected to the life-support machines.
This must be a very hard decision to make and one I hope to never have to make.
