Rihanna Is 'More Concerned' With Chris Brown's Well-Being

Rihanna is still attempting to put her history with Chris Brown to rest. The wounds from the domestic violence assault she experienced at his hands may have healed but the emotional scars are still fresh. In her upcoming interview with Oprah Winfrey for "Oprah's Next Chapter," the 24-year-old "Where Have You Been" songstress explains how she still is very much worried about Brown's well-being.

In a previous clip, Rihanna revealed that she found a best friend in the Fortune creator and lost him once they cut ties. "Like everything I knew was switched. Switched in a night. And I couldn't control that. So I had to deal with that, and that's not easy for me to understand or interpret. And it's not easy to interpret on camera, not with the world watching."

She may be the victim, but the Grammy-winning entertainer knows Brown needed help after the incident. "I just felt like he made that mistake because he needed help, and who's gonna help him?" she stated. "Nobody's gonna say he needs help. Everybody's gonna say he's a monster without looking at the source. I was more concerned about him.

Witness Rihanna share her emotional talk on "Oprah's Next Chapter" Aug. 19 at 9PM on OWN.

Does anyone else think Rihanna puts on this rough, tough, bad girl, S&M act because something bad happened to her when she was young? She seems to me like someone that had issues growing up.

Have finally come to the conclusion that these two deserve each other. They abused and used each other and until we, the public, let them know we are on to them and don't care it will continue. They are each sick in a very sad way. Ijust hope that there will never be any kids in their lives.

How many more days is this story gonna run? This is about the 6th day. The elections don't get this much press. So you got a sleazy, half dressed scuz bag and a thug. Of course ya got Oprah, and that fatty gets her press. I think most people could care less, about these two spoiled over paid children.

I admire Rihanna's honesty. I do think healing is possible and that if Chris really wants to change he can....with help. They seem to love each other.

I wonder how she felt after he used her face as a punching bag???? She is what's known as an enabler. Loves to play the victim. The thought of getting beaten to a pulp by her man excites her. She needs it like a drug. Sick woman!!!

he's a monster ~ he knows right from wrong & he chose to use violence ~ he's arrogant & self-absorbed ~ he doesn't care about anyone except himself & he always will ~

Come on.... sounds like someone is making excuses for a beater!!! Thats fine if you want to forgive him, but you don't owe him anything, especially your respect and help! It is his journey, not yours Rihana! Let it go and find a "Good Guy"!! Your future children...(if you so choose) will thank you!

I think Rihanna is wonderful! She's gorgeous, talented and has a huge heart but as a fellow musician, we are a different breed...

However, she needs to work on herself more and keep using the music as a theraputic outlet. She should do herself a favor and talk to a therapist who can give her some tools to heal her soul and be all she can be.

She also needs to visit a battered women's shelter and talk to somebody like the fabulous Tina Turner! She could help this girl out easily over a simple lunch...or watch "What's Love Got to Do With It?" If she goes back, and back, and back, one day he will loose all sense of reality and really do some serious dammage or worse. Sometimes love and compassion need to make way for basic life skills and finding out WHY you or a loved one acts the way they do. As I understand she has her own baggage with the way she grew up. I'm not saying to just give up but to give YOURSELF a time and place away from everyone to look at where this is all going...and it's not good even now after the TMZ photo and everything else going on right now.

I wish only the best for her!
