Police stopped a vehicle Sigel was traveling in on I-95 around 3:15AM. The car, a Ford Fusion, was reportedly following closely behind another ride and swerving, prompting cops to pull over the driver, named as Gerald Andrews.
The traffic stop resulted in a weapons search, which lead cops to find prescription bottles and a small amount of marijuana in Andrews' possession. The passenger, identified as Dwight Grant, Sigel's birthname, was also searched and discovered a bottle of codeine syrup with the label scratched off, prescription pills wrapped in plastic bags located in a cigarette pack and approximately $4,650 cash.
Pennsylvania State Troopers conducted a further search of the Ford and found a firearm located in the center console. Sigel, a convicted felon, is prohibited from possessing a firearm. The MC, along with Andrews, also a convicted felon, were taken into police custody to be processed and arraigned.
The former Roc-A-Fella Records signee's arrest comes one day after he released his sixth studio album, This Time. Sigel recently spoke to The BoomBox about the project and his upcoming prison sentence here.
