Jay-Z, 'Live in Brooklyn' EP: Rapper to Release 'Optic' Project

iTunes

Jay-Z will conclude his eight-night performance spree at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., tonight and he'll commemorate the entire experience by releasing a new EP.

The lauded rap star is giving viewers who didn't score tickets the chance to watch a live stream of the show beginning at 9:30PM ET tonight on his Life+Times YouTube channel. However, he's making the moment both a visual and audio keepsake by debuting Live in Brooklyn, an eight-song EP featuring his live performances from the event. The effort is available Oct. 9 exclusively through iTunes.

Journalist and RapRadar.com head Elliott Wilson, who serves as a prominent figure in the hip-hop community, revealed the news via his Twitter account. Hov's project -- tagged as both an "audio and visual optic EP" -- will be filmed and recorded during his final Barclays show this evening.

Fans who've already attended one of the previous seven sets could likely find tracks such as "Forever Young," "Can I Live?" "Big Pimpin" and "99 Problems," among others, showing up on the Live in Brooklyn tracklisting.

Perhaps the 42-year-old hip-hop veteran will also feature some of the memorable remarks he made between songs at his shows. One of them being an inspirational story he told about watching the Barclays Center move from a vision to a reality.

During his talk with the audience at show No 6. on Thurs. (Oct. 4), he spoke of how he believed in bringing the Barclays arena to Brooklyn even when others doubted him -- an achievement he hopes would serve as inspiration for his fans. "Don't let anyone underestimate your accomplishments," he explained. "Be inspired. Be inspired by Barack Obama if that's what you wanna do."
