Pitchfork reports that a press release about the next installment dubs it "a cast of characters interconnected by sexual exploits, quarreling lovers, and a mysterious package." Sounds about right.
What made the first "Trapped in the Closet" so compelling though, despite its frivolity, was the consistent story-telling arch and talent with which R.Kelly delivered the tale. From the looks of things, the second edition will be cut from the same cloth.
Kelly told Billboard that the show could continue infinitely. "'Trapped in the Closet' is forever. I've got like a hundred chapters to come," the singer said. The new chapters also include two new characters: Dr. Perry a marriage counselor and therapist, and Beeno, a gangster "kingpin" figure.
The 20 new chapters will be airing on IFC starting on Black Friday (Nov. 23) at 9PM. IFC has posted a complete character list and all of the old chapters to help get new viewers caught up and old viewers refreshed.
