Solange, Beyonce: Singer Opens Up About Babysitting Duties for Her Niece, Blue Ivy

When Beyonce and little sister Solange Knowles need a night off from motherhood (Beyonce is mom to 9-month-old Blue Ivy; Solange to 8-year-old Julez), we can bet who they call for help: Each other!

In an interview with New York Magazine, Solange opened up swapping babysitting duties with her sis. "Blue comes over, I babysit," she said. "[Beyonce] takes Julez sometimes for the weekend."

Since the sisters live close to each other in New York, Solange anticipates that their children will be as close as she and Beyonce are. "[Blue] and Julez are going to grow up more like sister and brother than cousins," Solange shares.

Solange tells the mag that big sis Beyonce has always been there for her, including when the two were miles apart while Solange was going through a divorce with Julez's dad, college football coach, Daniel Smith. "Every time there was drama and I was all the way in Idaho, it was nice to be able to call [Beyonce]," she recalled.

Besides finding time to babysit, Solange is busy prepping for this month's release of her EP, True. She lives with her son and boyfriend, music video director Alan Ferguson.
