Chief Keef Sentenced: 17-Year-Old Rapper to Serve 2 Months Over Pitchfork Gun Video, Parole Violation

Chief Keef Rifle Pitchfork Interview Parole ViolationInterscope

A member of Chief Keef's management team has revealed that the controversial 17-year-old rapper has been sentenced to two months at the Illinois Youth Center in St. Charles, Ill., for violating probation.

"We would have preferred for him not to have to sit down for a single day," explained Idris "Peeda Pan" Abdul Wahid, of today's verdict. "Overall, I think it's the best decision to satisfy everybody. The City of Chicago got what they want ... We done been to hell and back already, so shit ain't nothing."

Reports from the courtroom, however, paint a vastly different picture of the "nihilistic" young MC. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the scene in the courtroom was quite emotional, with Keef "breaking down into tears several times."

Keef, born Keith Cozart, was convicted on Tuesday (Jan. 15), after he was filmed brandishing a rifle during an ill-conceived interview with Pitchfork on July 2, 2012, a direct violation of the terms of his probation.

Keef began serving his time immediately after sentencing this afternoon.

Feel sorry for him. But that's the law and he should be able to follow it. This experience will serve him as a lesson.

He should have used a fake gun for a prop, the real ones will get you in trouble while on probation, he should have cut a deal and told Chicago he would do so many anti-gun ads to help their cause. Anytime they can use a celeb to get their message out they like it, while i totally disagree with gun bans I do whole heartedly support background checks so convicted felons and the 14 million illegal immigrants cannot but a guns but even with that. How many convicted felons or illegal immigrants are stupid enough to try and buy a gun? Okay sure, a few are dumb enough to try but over all they will just buy them on the street or steal them.
