Beyonce Carnival Appearance Canceled Over Financial Demands

You've got to pay to play. Ask the organizers of the Maldon Carnival in Essex, England.

Spurned by Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Rod Stewart and Jessie J, they thought they'd hit the jackpot when Beyonce's agent replied to them saying that Queen Bey had an opening in her schedule and was interested in attending.

A meeting was reportedly set up, but it lasted a mere 10 minutes. That's how long it took for the agent to let the organizers know that it was going to cost them a pretty penny just for Beyonce to make an appearance.

How much? 50,000 Euro. Upon learning of the fee, the organizers realized they were priced out and had to scrap their plans.

Beyonce is the most dynamic female entertainer on the scene today and $600,000 is not to much to ask for her talent. Queen-B brings a level of stage performance that is like no other female entertainer that is currently performing. As a mother, wife and artist...she is confidently moving in the direction of her dreams and endeavors to live the life she has imagined for herself and family.

I see nothing at all wrong with this. The singer set a price on her appearance at this Fair and the organizers judged that the extra attendance the Fair might garner because of that appearance wouldn't amount to $50,000. A simple straightforward business transaction. I don't see why other comments here proffer an opinion about this singer's "talent" or the lack of it. That is simply not relevant to this situation. It is rather the law of supply and demand and obviously the singer is in sufficiently high demand that she won't appear for less.

I t is like anything else in this world. Ask what you think you are worth and those who think you are worth it will pay it. Just like anybody trying ot get any job out there. I guess the Fair told that she was definaltely not worth 50,000 euros just to appear. At it only took them 10 minutes to figure that out. Can't say I blame them.
