Maybach Music Group 'Self Made Vol. 2' Tracklist Debuts With Nas, Wiz Khalifa, T.I. & More

Getty Images The Maybach Music Group team has unveiled the tracklist for Self Made Vol. 2 and the effort features some hip-hop veterans and a few newbies. Set to drop June 26, Rick Ross, Wale, Meek Mill, Stalley, Gunplay and Omarion unite on the album, which is comprised of 14 tracks. The tracklist debuted on Ross' RozayRaw.com Friday (May 18) with a link to a pre-order of the album. The LP finds respected MCs Nas ("This Thing of Ours"), T.I. ("Bury Me a G") and Bun B ("Black on Black") rapping on songs while new school artists Wiz Khalifa ("I Be Puttin' On"), Nipsey Hussle ("Fountain of Youth") and Kendrick Lamar ("Power Circle"), among others, also serve verses. Rick Ross, Wale, Meek Mill, Stalley, Gunplay and Omarion all lay claim to at least two tracks on the album, with the aforementioned collaborators assisting. ...

Da Brat's Tomboy-Inspired Movie Screening Outfit: Hit or Miss -- Photo, Poll

Getty Images for Universal Since Da Brat's release from prison last year, the Funkdafied rapper has showed up to red carpet events in sophisticated attire that includes dresses. However, on Thursday night (May 17), in Atlanta, the 38-year-old rhymer posed for photos at a private screening of the film "Battleship," starring Rihanna, dressed in gear that looked like she was heading on a camping trip or hitting a theme park with her crew. An orange fitted cap, her braided hair covered by a bandana, an oversized black-and-white striped, collared shirt, camouflage shorts, sneakers and a neon green MCM backpack aren't the usual choices for red carpet wardrobe, but it's what Da Brat selected for the event, held at the AMC Phipps Plaza. Kanye West 'Cruel Summer': Film and G.O.O.D. Music Compilation Share Same Name

Getty Images Kanye West has unveiled the title of the forthcoming G.O.O.D. Music compilation, Cruel Summer, which also shares the name of the rapper's new short art film. Set to debut in Cannes, France, during the Cannes Film Festival, on May 23, the project is a seven screen experience, MTV News reports. Comedian Aziz Ansari, rapper Kid Cudi, Lebanese actress Razane Jammal ("Djinn") and Palestinian actor Ali Suliman ("The Kingdom") are all set to star in the film. West produced, wrote and directed the visuals, which are based on an Elon Rutberg screenplay -- Rutberg is the associate director of West and Jay-Z's "N----s in Paris" video. The My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy creator and Kid Cudi filmed scenes for the movie in Qatar, located in the Middle East. ...

Drake, Rick Ross and French Montana Perform 'Stay Schemin'' in Houston

Getty Images Drake's Club Paradise tour touched down in Houston Thursday night (May 17) at the Toyota Center, where fans were treated to a surprise appearance by Rick Ross. The Maybach Music Group head honcho graced the stage with Drizzy to perform "Stay Schemin'," a track off Ross' Rich Forever mixtape. French Montana joined the rappers as well, moving through the lauded song for the first time since the hip-hop trio recorded the effort's video. 2 Chainz, Meek Mill, Waka Flocka Flame and J. Cole were also in the building to rap their sets, which spanned an average of 30 minutes each. ...

Teairra Mari 'U Did That' Video: 2 Chainz and Singer Unite for Sexy Visuals

Division 1 Teairra Mari leaves her inhibitions at the door in the visuals for "U Did That," the 2 Chainz- assisted lead single off her sophomore album, Sex on the Radio, due this summer. "This is one on my favorite videos that I've done for a couple of reasons, starting with the mixture of grit and glam, the fact that the settings are very gritty and dark and I'm still serving glam," Teairra tells The BoomBox of the video, which was shot in Los Angeles. ...

"Also, I love, love, love seeing myself let loose in the one-on-one dance scene!" she adds. "To top it off, I had a great time shooting the video with my incredible glam squad and 2 Chainz was absolutely amazing!"

The 24-year-old songstress, who's signed to songwriter Rico Love's Division I imprint, delivers a more sexified version of herself in the clip, as she shows off her curves in a barely-there outfit and gyrates with a male dancer.

Rico Love, the producer of "U Did That," supported his artist's decision to heat things up on set. "I'm such a fan of Teairra and I love the visual for this song," he states. "I feel like it captures a more mature Teairra. She has a a lot to prove and she's up for the task. I support her 100 percent."

Lil' Kim Calls Nicki Minaj 'Catty' and 'Obnoxious,' Says Biggie's Mom 'Didn't Know Him'

Getty Images Lil' Kim takes aim at Nicki Minaj, the Notorious B.I.G.'s mother Voletta Wallace and Azealia Banks in a new interview with Power 105.1's "The Breakfast Club." The Brooklyn rapper was extremely candid during her sit-down on the radio show, which she initially arrived for to speak about her current Return of the Queen tour. While speaking with hosts Charlamagne, Angela Yee and DJ Envy, Kim sounded off on the very public battle she and Nicki Minaj have been involved in since the Young Money rhymer hit the hip-hop scene. "She started releasing all these records doing her vocals the way I did my vocals," Kim stated. "I played a record for Slim [of Cash Money Records] called 'Automatic.' It's a St. Tropez, dance type of record. Three years ago I played him this record. On her new album, she has a song called 'Automatic' and the song is so similar to the song that I played for Slim." ...

She went on describe Minaj as being less than friendly when they did meet. "Whether my fans would have liked that sound or not, it was my sound. I brought that sound to the table. The problem with her is she was very catty with it. I never had a problem with her. I was always nice with her -- always. She was a very obnoxious person, but I was always nice with her."

As for Azealia Banks, who took to Twitter last week to bash Lil' Kim for denying her the opportunity to collaborate on a track, the veteran MC was quick to set the record straight on the "beef."

"I never met this girl a day in my life," Kim shared. "I never talked to this chick, she don't know what I sound like. I don't know what she sound like on the phone. I think it's in chicks' contracts when they come out, you gotta go at Lil' Kim."

Voletta Wallace, the Notorious B.I.G.'s mother, was also a hot topic of discussion. The two women have been at odds with one another since Biggie's passing.

"Big's mom doesn't know Biggie," she claims. "And she barely knows Christopher. She used to kick him out daily. She did not care to know him or get to know him. Don't get me wrong, he loved his mother and I'm pretty sure as a mom she loved her son, but she didn't know him."

DJ Pauly D 'Night of My Life' Video: Deadmau5 Slams Reality TV Star for 'Cheap' Visuals

House music producer Deadmau5 blasted the "Jersey Shore" castmember for putting out a video that he felt was low-budget. Pauly D, who is signed to 50 Cent's G-Unit Records, posted the visuals on his Twitter account, asking his followers, "So how do you like the video?" Deadmau5 took the opportunity to bash the "Night of My Life" clip. @DJPaulyD well since you asked, i didn't really enjoy it. it looked like it cost about $150 to make, and nothing really creative about it. - deadmau5 (@deadmau5) May 17, 2012 ...

Though Pauly D never directly responded to Deadmau5, he apparently believed he was being "hated on." Subsequently, Deadmau5 sounded off once more to let Pauly D know he was just giving "friendly-ish advice."

Rock the Bells 2012 Lineup Announced: Missy Elliott, Kendrick Lamar, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony & More

Getty Images The veterans and newbies will take the stage at this year's Rock the Bells festival, which features a lineup that finds the likes of Missy Elliott, Timbaland and Bone Thugs-n-Harmony performing along with Kendrick Lamar, 2 Chainz and Wiz Khalifa, among others. Old school rhymers Ice Cube, Salt-N-Pepa, Method Man, Redman, Naughty by Nature, Big Daddy Kane and Slick Rick are set to grab the mic for the event. New school artists J. Cole, A$AP Rocky, Mac Miller, Kid Cudi, Schoolboy Q and Yelawolf will also perform. ...

The concert will take place in three cities, commencing Aug. 18 and 19 at NOS Events Center in San Bernardino, Calif., Aug. 25 and 26 at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, Calif., and Sept. 1 and 2 at PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, N.J.

The New Edition member performed "Don't Let Me Die" on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" Wednesday night (May 16). In the song, Brown admits he "messed up pretty bad," states that he "doesn't know how to live without you" and begs his former lover "don't let me die." Dressed in leather pants and donning shades, the crooner sang the lyrics over a driving beat. ...

Brown will release "Don't Let Me Die" on his forthcoming album, set to debut June 4.

Nicki Minaj 'Right By My Side' Video: Rapper Kisses Nas, Dances With Chris Brown

The Young Money MC dons a long blonde wig while planting a kiss on the cigar-smoking rapper. In the clip, the two rap stars' relationship is put on display as Nas gifts Minaj with a pricey new car, takes her on a romantic date and makes out with her in a park under the moon. ...

Nas doesn't show off his lyrical skills in the video, however, Chris Brown serves up his usual crooning and gives the head Barbie a twirl as they dance together on set.

Shyne Calls Himself a 'Legend,' Diddy His 'Brother' & Speaks on 'Gangland' LP

AFP/Getty Images Shyne recently partnered with Israeli startup All Our Power, an international movement that aims to have consumers pool their buying power to force companies to lower prices for its members. In an interview with The Huffington Post regarding his union with AOP -- he's an investor -- the former Bad Boy signee, who currently lives in Belize after he was deported in 2009, spoke on his forthcoming Gangland album, reconciling with Diddy and critics bashing him. The Orthodox Jew rapper will release his Gangland LP in July. The "street album," as he calls it, will be released independently and serves as a precursor to his next LP, due in December. He'll also release a solo album in spring 2013. Shyne's new music hasn't been well-received by fans or critics. While he's aware of the negative feedback, the MC prides himself on being a "legend." ...

"They said what they felt and I kept working, because at the end of the day I set a standard," he says. "Shyne is a legend, so people expect legendary performances from him. When it's not that, you got to keep working to get to that. The music I have now is a billion times better than all of that."

As for Diddy, who has been criticized for leaving Shyne out on his own after the rapper took the fall for the infamous Club New York shooting that landed him in jail for eight years, the two have put their differences aside.

"Nobody's perfect and if a man talks to you as a man and as a brother and says to you, 'listen, I did this, I did that,' and really man up, what could you do?" Shyne states. "It's one thing if a man doesn't want to accept the mistakes that were made, but that's not how it was. I learned a lot from 'ol boy and I don't really try to walk around with the blame game, that's not how I live my life... And that's the message that I was hoping to send by meeting with and coming together as brothers with Sean."

Stalley Talks 'Self Made Vol. 2' Studio Sessions, Rick Ross' Formula & Being a SBTRKT Fan

Gino DePinto Rick Ross and his Maybach Music Group roster of talent -- Meek Mill, Wale, Stalley and now Omarion -- are currently crafting the highly anticipated compilation album, Self Made Vol. 2. Before the project debuts on June 26, Massillon, Ohio native Stalley gives insight on the recording process. The bearded MC, who released his mixtape, Savage Journey to the American Dream, in March, traveled south to Atlanta to hit the studio with Ross for the follow-up to 2011's Self Made Vol. 1. "I throw a lot of verses on stuff that Ross already has," the rapper tells The BoomBox. "Ross is one of those guys that kinda sets records up. He's like, 'Listen to this, listen to this and listen to that. Pick what you like then put a verse on it' or 'Pick what beats you like and do what you do.'" ...

While working alongside Ross, Stalley's witnessed firsthand how the MMG head honcho creates his songs. "He'll then formulate it or add somebody to it," he shares. "I could put two verses on it and then it could have a hook that's just like a reference. Then he'll take that and he'll send it to like Ne-Yo or somebody and be like, 'Ne-Yo, sing that hook' or 'John Legend, put a hook on that.' And then the song comes together."

Stalley knows little about the producers or song titles for the new LP. "I don't even know 'em," he admits. "He just be like, 'Here is a folder for Self Made Vol. 2. Pick what you like. Write to it, put a verse to it.'

However, the "Hammers and Vogues" creator is aware of the collaborations that are featured on the forthcoming opus. "A couple of [the songs] had Wale's [and] Meek's [verses] and a few other artists, I can't really say," Stalley discloses. "I've done a lot of solo songs too but who knows who will end up on them.

As far as joining forces with other artists for his solo work, Stalley's wishlist includes rap staples and others in the rock spectrum. "I would love to work with Nas, I would love to work with Andre 3000. Scarface," Stalley states. "There's a lot of people outside of hip-hop too. I want to do a record with Bruce Springsteen. Yukimi from Little Dragon. Sampha from SBTRKT."

For a rhymer who is signed to one of hip-hop's lauded imprints, Stalley's musical selections as of late don't include rap. "I barely even listen to hip-hop," he states. "I've been listening to Bon Iver, his first album. SBTRKT [and] the Drums."

Stalley's Savage Journey to the American Dream mixtape serves as a prelude to his debut LP, set for release on Maybach Music Group.

Jay-Z, Budweiser Made in America Festival: Rapper Will Headline Two-Day Event

Getty Images Jay-Z is involved in yet another partnership but this time, rather than basketball, he's sticking to his roots. The rap star has partnered with Budweiser for a two-day music festival to be held in Philadelphia during Labor Day weekend. "Budweiser Made in America" will feature Jay-Z as both headliner and curator. The Brooklyn native will select nearly 30 artists to perform at the festival, which benefits United Way and is produced by Live Nation. The entertainers, comprised of acts from the hip-hop, rock, R&B, Latin and dance worlds, will "embody the American spirit." "This Labor Day, we will not only make history but we're benefiting a great organization," Jay-Z said in a statement. "'Budweiser Made in America' will encompass every genre of music, creating and showcasing the only genre that matters, 'great music.' Budweiser and Live Nation are going to produce an amazing two days of performances, and it's great to partner with United Way again to support all of the positive work they do in the community." ...

The two-day event will be held at the Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia's Fairmount Park on Sat., Sept. 1 and Sun., Sept. 2. Tickets for "Budweiser Made in America" music festival go on sale Wed., May 23, through Ticketmaster.com.

Usher, 'SNL': Singer Performs 'Climax' and 'Scream,' Keeps Dancing to a Minimum

Ethan Miller, Getty Images Usher showcased his live singing chops Saturday night (May 12) on "SNL," where he performed two tracks off his forthcoming seventh studio album, Looking 4 Myself, due June 12. The 33-year-old crooner moved through "Scream" and "Climax" all while keeping the fancy footwork to a minimum. Dressed in black shades, a black leather jacket and a graphic T-shirt, Usher greeted the audience before he went to work performing "Scream." "We at it again 'SNL' and this time I'm gonna make you scream," he shouted. He then sang "Climax," proving his ability to rock the crowd with his live vocals. This month, Usher covers Billboard magazine and will perform at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards May 20. ...

Stevie Wonder, Extortion Plot: Singer at Center of Incest Allegations

Getty Images Stevie Wonder's name was close to being tarnished as a result of a man claiming he was the singer's nephew, born out of an incestuous relationship Wonder allegedly had with his sister. However, the accusations are false and the man has since been arrested and charged with attempting to extort the "I Just Called to Say I Love You" creator. TMZ reports Alpha Lorenzo Walker threatened Wonder, telling him he would go to the tabloids with the story unless he was paid a large sum -- he originally demanded $5 million then lowered the amount to $10,000 -- to keep quiet. ...

Law enforcement officials trapped Walker in a sting operation by going undercover. They claimed to be Wonder's reps and had the cash in their possession. Officials then had Walker sign a document, which included a statement that his claims were false -- it is not known whether Walker was verbally told about what was actually in the document.

Walker was subsequently arrested and charged with felony extortion. His girlfriend was also charged. Walker is being held on $60,000 bail. He has pled not guilty to extortion.

Azealia Banks 'Jumanji': Rapper Blasts Bad Grammar, Reps New York City on Song

Getty Images Interscope signee Azealia Banks drops the first song off her 1991 EP, due later this month. The effort, "Jumanji," which was inspired by the 1995 film starring Robin Williams, finds the "Black Rapunxel" delivering raps over a beat that commences with a harp for some fairytale flair. "They want my photos and pictures inside of their candid cameras," she spits on the Hudson Mohawke and Nick Hook-produced track. Steel drums sound, Banks serves a chorus of "real bitch all day, uptown Broadway" -- an homage to her New York roots -- and takes aim at her female enemies' bad grammar. ...

After releasing her EP, Banks, 20, will debut the Fantastic mixtape and come September, her full-length album, Broke With Expensive Taste, arrives. News reports that the "Through the Fire" creator has been working on her physical fitness and dropped 60 pounds as a result. At the Kennedy Center Annual Spring Gala on May 6, Khan appeared half her size in a black jumpsuit. The body-hugging outfit showcased the 59-year-old's new slimmer frame. ...

Khan has yet to comment on her dramatic weight loss, but the chanteuse, who suffered from high blood pressure and diabetes, obviously has been living a healthier lifestyle.

Meek Mill, Roc Nation Management: Rapper Reveals Deal With Jay-Z's Imprint

Getty Images Meek Mill is a hot commodity. Fresh off the release of his Dreamchasers 2 mixtape earlier this week, the Philly native has revealed his union with Roc Nation management. In an interview with Jay-Z's Life + Times, the Maybach Music Group signee spoke about his new deal. "Me coming up in this rap game, I was always an underground artist coming up by myself and making all of the moves by myself," Meek, 25, shared. "And my manager -- he's just like me, we've been coming up in the streets by ourselves. So we just decided to partner up with Roc Nation and take things to another level." The "Amen" rhymer believes the career guidance he'll receive at Roc Nation will bring him to the "next level." ...

"I've got Warner Bros. behind me, Maybach Music Group and Roc Nation; some of the most powerful people in the game," Meek continues. "That's like 80 percent of the game right there. You know, Cash Money, they like family. So it's like you've got everyone on your team at one time, and it feels good to have all that behind you at once. It's like a force that can't be stopped.

Dreamchasers 2 is a prelude to Meek Mill's debut LP, Dreams and Nightmares, due Aug. 28. Jahlil Beats, Cardiak, All Star, Key Wayne, Young Jerz, Just Blaze and Pharrell Williams are all on his wishlist of producers for the effort.

No Malice kicks off "Darkest Hour" with a verse that explores his past involved with drugs. FilmMagic Kanye West apparently wants to be Kim Kardashian's third husband. The Chicago rapper has shared his sentiments for the reality TV star on record yet again, US Weekly reports. After West, 34, served some lyrics about his love for Kardashian, 31, on "Way Too Cold" last month, he now wants to put a ring on it. "I saw you in the club in a white dress/ Now I want to put you in a white dress," the G.O.O.D. Music head honcho reportedly raps on a new song by fellow MC Pusha T. ...

A source revealed that the lyrics aren't the first time news has been circulating about the couple exchanging vows. "Kim and Kanye are 100 percent having conversations about marriage," the insider disclosed.

The magazine did not share which Pusha T track the lyrics are on.

Eminem's Tin Foil Dreams: Rapper Covers Hotel Windows, Pumps White Noise

The Detroit native requests that hotel staff block light from the windows in his room by placing tin foil over the glass. The Sun Newspaper reports that Marshal Mathers requires such an unusual act in order for him to get optimal sleep. In addition to tin foil-covered windows in his hotel room, the 39-year-old "Not Afraid" creator also puts white noise on speakers to muffle ambient sounds. "The noise and darkness gets Eminem the best night's sleep," a source told The Sun. For a man who's raked in tons of cash by selling more than 90 million albums worldwide, it's no surprise he enjoys spending a little extra on having peace of mind. While touring, he's been known to rent entire hotel floors and use private elevators. ...

Last year, the rhymer requested a wooden pond filled with colorful koi carp fish as part of his backstage rider. Costing anywhere from $300 to $900, he apparently watched the fish swim to keep calm.

Mac Miller Shares Story of Meek Mill Friendship, Confusion Over Names

FilmMagic Mac Miller sits down with the hosts of MTV's "Hip Hop POV" Wednesday night (May 9) to discuss his career in addition to his hip-hop peers. One fellow rapper he makes mention of is Meek Mill, with whom he collaborated on Dreamchasers 2, the MMG signee's latest mixtape. During the conversation, Miller described his friendship with Meek. "That's my dude," the rapper shares. "It's funny 'cause back in the day, somebody called him Mac Miller. I'm like, 'Yo, that's the most hilarious thing,' because people would confuse us." On looks alone, it would be hard to confuse the two MCs, but the Blue Slide Park creator revealed that people would mistake their lyrical prowess. "They would think that I was Meek... You know like on the Internet," he stated before finishing off his remarks with a laugh. "'Cause we look alike too." ...

He went on to praise the Philly native, whose first LP, Dreams and Nightmares, debuts Aug. 28. "Meek is killin' it right now," Miller admits. "That's someone that I really feel good seeing doing well."

Apparently the collaboration between Richardson and the singer was "impromptu" and occurred "10 mins after work," according to Rihanna's tweets. The shoot, which was unveiled on the photographer's Tumblr, showcases the "Where Have You Been" performer flaunting her backside in a pair of short shorts and high heels. ...

The black-and-white stills feature shots of Rihanna wrapping her legs around Richardson, sporting his signature black glasses and looking seductively at the camera. First there was his role as the Running Man in the Off-Broadway play "Fuerza Bruta," earlier this month, where his forthcoming LP served as the soundtrack. Now the lauded crooner will hold a town hall-style meeting with fans to give them an inside look at his creative process. The "Climax" singer will sit down for "SiriusXM's Town Hall with Usher," a live Q&A session with an audience of listeners. The special is set to be hosted by veteran reporter and SiriusXM host Sway Calloway. "I am looking forward to sitting down with my old friend Sway and interacting with my fans to hear what questions they have about my new album and creative process," said Usher. ...

TMZ reports that the "My Prerogative" singer will marry Etheridge during a ceremony in Hawaii. The couple will exchange vows at some point during the weekend of June 15. Brown is set to travel to the island for a performance with New Edition in Honolulu on June 17. ...

Brown and Etheridge have been engaged since May 2010, and share a son, Cassius, born May 30, 2009. He reportedly has invited family and friends along to witness the ceremony in Hawaii.

The entertainer previously wed Whitney Houston on July 28, 1992. The couple later divorced on April 24, 2007.

The trio, known for their catchy choruses on lauded tracks like "Weak," "I'm So Into You" and "Right Here," sit in the upper echelons of esteemed female powerhouses. They've built a solid reputation marked by creating music that resonates with listeners. On their new album, I Missed Us, released last month, SWV are bringing back much of the same sound they put out in the '90s. "If you enjoyed the old music, you're really going to enjoy the new music," Taj tells The BoomBox. "You've grown up with us so you're right here with us. The music is mature, it's entertaining, beautiful, emotional." Currently hitting major markets promoting their LP, Sisters With Voices spent an afternoon dropping some pretty hilarious sentiments during a conversation in New York City. Comedy may not be their specialty, but they could easily cause a room to erupt in laughter at amateur hour. Twenty years have passed since the first album, It's About Time, was released. Did you ever do anything once it was released in 1992, to celebrate the hard work you had put into it?

Coko: We really didn't have time to do anything at first. We worked hard for a long time. We lived in the 'hood, so we had to move.

Taj: I was slow, I didn't move until we were almost double platinum. After I was down to like one pair of underwear [since the rest were stolen] I had to move [laughs]. I was in Brooklyn, Bed-Stuy. I loved laundromats, I had this obsession with the smell of dryers. I love going to the laundromat. I would go and wash my clothes, read a book, go to the bathroom, and my stuff would be gone. After four pairs of underwear, [I was like], "Maybe it's time." Couldn't fight it anymore.

When you were recording the album, I Missed Us, is there one song that you had a hard time recording because it brought back a specific memory or emotion as you were performing your vocals?

Lelee: "The Best Years." I was thinking about every guy that I dated that I put so much time into the relationship and it just did not work. For whatever reason, you replay all of those moments in your head, at the same time in the booth trying to record it, sing it. That was hard for me.

These days, much of R&B has an electronic, dance feel. What are your thoughts on this shift in the music that you made a career of performing?

L: We're going to show you what real R&B is, because it isn't that.

T: It's a sad day in music. It really is. If I could be 100 percent honest; some of the artists I enjoy for entertainment purposes, but it takes me absolutely nowhere. I can't go to those when I'm feeling sad, when somebody leaves me. I can't relate to those songs, they're for the moment. By the way, if people enjoy those for-the-moment songs, it's whatever you like.

One of you said you're not trying to be 19.

L: People automatically remember us from the '90s, when we were 19, 20 years old. You get all of these jokes. Everybody expects us to look like Beyonce. It ain't gonna happen. We're 40 years old. I'm almost 40 years old. That's not where we're trying to be. We're not trying to sell sex, that's not our group. We're not sex sellers, we're music sellers. Take it for what it's worth. Buy the record and don't worry about if we could wear a thong or not. Damn.

What have you each done in your time away from the spotlight that helped prepare you for this album?

C: I put out two gospel records on my own. I went back to church. That prepped me a lot, vocally, took me to another level. It was good training for me.

L: I go to church all the time. There are moments where the church I went to before, I was in a choir. I was! My new church, I wanted to be fed, didn't want it to become about me. I go, and enjoy. You need a word or two [from the church] in this business.

T: I don't go to church that often. If I do go to church, I do it online. I like to be able to sit there and hear the word on my own. You can sit there and enjoy God's word in your pajamas. I always did school choruses I never did the church thing. I'm not as holy as them. I'm the group sinner [laughs].

If there were ever to be an SWV tribute, who would you want to sing your vocals?

L: I would want Mary to do a tribute to us. Absolutely, Mary J Blige. I love her.

C: Fantasia.

T: Who would be me? I have no idea. Adele!

C: She likes country music.

So Taj is the person in the group that puts you all onto other music?

C: We'll be in the car, and she'll play some station we've never heard before. She knows word-for-word.

T: I love all kinds music, I love it all. Because I'm in Nashville I do get to hear a lot of country. I'm exposed to it. I really enjoy it. I love a little bit of everything. Right now I'm on this group called The Henningsens. They're so good out of Chicago. They're a group, a family, incredible. I love Paramore. I got a litte bit of everything.

And Coko, is your musical palette more on the R&B side?

C: R&B, but mostly gospel.

L: She doesn't usually come outside of those lanes, but I am straight up old school. I love The O'Jays, Larry Graham. I love Stacey Lattisaw. I just love music.

Who out right now do you like that's in mainstream?

L: Ask us who we're sick of right now.

So who do you think gets more credit than they deserve?

Nicki Minaj. I'm not taking anything away from her artistry; I think she's wonderful in her look and her image. She's working it, milking it. I'm still trying to figure out what's happening. I just dont know what's the big thing. It's nothing out there now. That could play a big part in it. She's definitely talented but I never really got on that bandwagon. I'm trying to. My daughter is Nicki Minaj crazy. I'm still trying to figure it out. I don't know if she's a rapper, a Rihanna-type. Are they in the same category? I'm confused. I don't know where to put her.

Are you a fan of rap?

C: I don't like rap, but I have a 16-year-old who likes rap, so I know about it. But he likes people like Wiz Khalifa, Lil B. I like KRS-One, old school rap. I don't like this new stuff. I don't like anything that's going to give me a headache.

T: I love, of course, J. Cole, Drake. I like all hip-hop. it's dope I can definitely get with it. I don't like underground hip-hop, some of it i just don't understand what they're saying. If I can understand the words I can get into it. And I love Mary J. Blige.

What do you love outside of music? Any passions or guilty pleasures like reality TV shows?

T: I watch reality TV and get angry. I cuss out my TV. I gotta drink tea afterwards.

C: We watch and we get together and discuss. "Did you see so and so?...I'm mad at her."

L: We're horrible. When we were recording in Miami. This one [Coko] is horrible. We had to stop for "Love & Hip-Hop." She's horrible!

Did you have ever have R&B beef when you first started?

C: Another group, Black Girl.

L: They were on our label. That was so dumb. Our label at the time had another girl group, three members, that damn near sounded similar to us. We went to caverns and had to do a show... And said, "We gotta murder them." They had us all come and do this show. We had R&Beef. When we were on tour with Brownstone they were going before us. They would take some of our show and do it before.

Coko, what ever happened to your long nails?

C: I am a mother now. When I had my first son, they wouldn't even let me leave the hospital with my nails long. I had to cut them. I still grew them out when I got home. I busted a vessel in his nose, which was terrible because he has very bad nosebleeds 'til this day. I just cut them off after that. I let them grow a little bit. [I originally grew them to] irk my mother. I grew up in a very religious household, couldn't listen to R&B, wear pants, go to movies. None of that stuff. Everything was the devil. When I turned 18, I grew them out, colored them all bright colors. She told me I was going to hell. I just wanted to get on her nerves.

DJ Drama 'We in This B----' Video: T.I., Young Jeezy, Ludacris & Future Join

Getty Images Last month, The BoomBox was onset for the filming of DJ Drama's "We in This Bitch" video, where T.I., Ludacris, Young Jeezy and Future were present to demonstrate their lyrical prowess. The Benny Boom-directed visuals for the single, which serves as the first effort to come from Drama's new album, Street Quality Music, have arrived and showcase a vibrant use of color. Blue, red, black, purple and green pop up as the rap stars deliver their verses, all while curvy ladies move and groove to the beat. As for the video's direction, Benny Boom paid homage to a '90s classic. "I wanted to do something like the 'Flavor in Your Ear [Remix]' type style but the 2012 version of it," he tells The BoomBox. "Just straight performance, because you got artists on here that've been around -- real Gs... We wanted to go right at 'em and have these guys right in the middle and have Drama kinda in the center of it all." ...

Lil Wayne's Red, Zebra-Striped Fur Boots: Hit or Miss -- Photo, Poll

Getty Images Lil Wayne's adopted a skater-inspired fashion wardrobe, which comprises much of his own clothing line Trukit. He tends to throw bright pops of color into his outfit and finishes the look with some interesting choice of footwear. His most recent shoe selection is a pair of red, zebra-striped fur boots he wore to a basketball game between the Denver Nuggets and the Los Angeles Lakers at the Staples Center in L.A. on May 1. This isn't the first time Tha Carter IV creator has sported boots usually reserved for his daughter's closet or college girls wearing sweatpants on their way to class. In Drake's "The Motto" video, released earlier this year, Weezy opts to rock neon green snow boots instead of typical sneaker favorites like Jordans -- a brand loved by the hip-hop community. Nicki Minaj Pepsi Commercial: Rapper's 'Moment 4 Life' Serves as Soundtrack -- Video

AP Nicki Minaj will now add Pepsi to the long list of endorsement deals she's snagged with the release of her new commercial for the company's "Live for Now" campaign. The visual, titled "Now in a Moment," features the Young Money rapper's "Moment 4 Life" single, off her debut album, Pink Friday, as the soundtrack. The spot shows a couple opening a can of the cola and time freezing as a result. With Minaj's lyrics in the air, the man and woman take part in different "frozen" scenarios, which include frolicking on the beach, running through the La Tomatina festival and gracing a runway fashion show in Japan. Their final destination is a Nicki Minaj concert, where the couple opens yet another can to bring the party back to life. Minaj comes to life and rocks the show. ...

Adam Yauch Dead: Beastie Boys Member MCA Dies of Cancer at 47

Getty Images Famed hip-hop trio the Beastie Boys are mourning the loss of their brother-in-rhyme Adam "MCA" Yauch, who died May 4 as a result of his battle with cancer, according to TMZ. The Brooklyn, N.Y., native was 47. Fours years ago on July 20, 2009, Yauch announced he had been diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in his parotid gland, located in the mouth. As a result of the disease, the Beastie Boys had postponed all tour dates and pushed back the release of their eighth studio album, originally titled Hot Sauce Committee, Pt. 1, which was later released and titled Hot Sauce Committee, Pt. 2. ...

His illness may have caused setbacks in his personal life and career but Yauch put up a strong fight, battling against the cancer. In August 2009, he underwent surgery to remove the tumor in his glands. Several months prior, he had asked fans to meditate with him in an effort to smash "apart all the cancer cells in the world."

Earlier this year, reports that the veteran rhymer were cancer-free surfaced, however, Yauch dismissed the news via his publicist. "I'm continuing treatment, staying optimistic and hoping to be cancer free in the near future," he said.

Adam "MCA" Yauch, Michael "Mike D" Diamond and Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz formed the Beastie Boys in 1979, starting off as a punk band and later transitioned to hip-hop in 1984. The threesome released their debut album, Licensed to Ill, in 1986, noted as Columbia Records' "fastest-selling debut record to date and sold over 9 million copies."

They've gone on to release numerous albums, won a Grammy award for their 1995 hit "Sabotage," among other Grammy accomplishments, earned MTV Video Music Awards for videos "Intergalactic" and "Make Some Noise" and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April 2012. Yauch was absent from the ceremony, however, Diamond and Horowitz accepted the achievement in his honor.

Yauch is survived by his wife Dechen Wangdu and daughter, Tenzin Losel Yauch.

New York Post's Phil Mushnick Says Jay-Z's Brooklyn Nets Should Be Named 'New York N-----s'

Getty Images for You Tube New York Post columnist Phil Mushnick has been adamant in voicing his disapproval over Jay-Z's role as co-owner of the Brooklyn Nets basketball team ever since the rhymer's involvement with the franchise was announced. In his "Equal Time" column in the newspaper Friday (May 4), Mushnick bashed the lauded rapper's marketing practices and even went so far as to say the franchise should be named the "New York N-----s" -- a racist remark by far. "As long as the Nets are allowing Jay-Z to call their marketing shots - what a shock that he chose black and white as the new team colors to stress, as the Nets explained, their new 'urban' home -- why not have him apply the full Jay-Z treatment?" he asked. "Why the Brooklyn Nets when they can be the New York N------s?" continued Mushnick, who has worked at the paper since 1973, and covered sports media since 1982. "The cheerleaders could be the Brooklyn B----hes or Hoes. Team logo? A 9 mm with hollow-tip shell casings strewn beneath. Wanna be Jay-Z hip? Then go all the way!" ...

Earlier this week, the 42-year-old Reasonable Doubt creator debuted the new Brooklyn Nets logo, which uses a clean "RollSign" typeface and strays from the use of color, opting for a black-and-white color scheme.

Kanye West 'Lost in the World' Video: Ruth Hogben and Rapper Collaborate

WireImage Nearly two years after Kanye West released his fifth studio album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, comes the visuals for "Lost in the World," which features Grammy winning-crooner Bon Iver on the track. The Chicago native teamed with fashion filmmaker Ruth Hogben and photographer Nick Knight's SHOWstudio for the black-and-white clip. As the effort commences, a warning flashes on the screen: "Strobe effects are used in this video." Subsequently, the word "lost" pulsates in a variety of languages before the video's title does much of the same. A woman then appears lying on a opaque floor before clouds appear and Kanye West enters the picture, decked out in a studded fitted cap, jeans and sneakers. A group of anguished females in white T-shirts show up, seemingly trapped in a city before high-rise buildings pull apart to let sunlight in as they thrash about. ...

Usher 'Looking 4 Myself' Album Tracklist: Pharrell Williams, Rick Ross & Luke Steele Appear on LP

AP Usher will debut his seventh album, Looking 4 Myself, June 12, but before it drops, he's offering fans a look at the songs comprising the project. "Climax," "Scream" and the Rick Ross-featured "Lemme See" are among the previously released records that make the LP's final tracklisting. The crooner collaborated with not only Miami rap don Ross but enlisted some lyrical help from Neptunes producer Pharrell Williams and Luke Steele, a member of Australian pop duo Empire of the Sun. Williams joins forces with Usher on "Twisted" while Steele appears on the title track "Looking 4 Myself." G. Dep, GQ Editor-in-Chief: Jim Nelson Reveals Role as Juror in Trevell Coleman Murder Trial

GQ Rapper G. Dep was convicted of murder last month, after killing a man in 1993 and coming forward with a surprise confession in 2010. One of the jurors that found the former Bad Boy signee, born Trevell Coleman, guilty was GQ Editor-in-Chief Jim Nelson. Nelson revealed his experience as a juror in GQ's Letter From the Editor, due to appear in the upcoming June issue. The magazine editor, who's a native of Greenbelt, Md., admits he did not know Coleman was actually one of Diddy's artists years ago. "I never knew this until after the trial-the judge must have limited what we were told about the defendant, and I didn't recognize him-but Trevell Coleman, I later learned when I looked into the case, became a semifamous rapper in the years after the crime," he wrote. ...

Despite finding him guilty "because he was," Nelson "wondered if I was fit to judge this man who was capable of acts of public violence and personal honor I couldn't even imagine having to wrestle with."

G. Dep will be sentenced May 8. He faces a 15-years-to-life prison term.
