Beyonce, Kanye West Moved By Obama's Win

Beyonce, Kanye West and Usher are all proud to have witnessed president-elect Barack Obama's sweeping victory to become the nation's first black president. During the Senator's 20 month campaign the stars have been vocal Obama supporters and are basking in the fruits of their labor.

A usually reserved public figure, Beyonce was down right giddy when speaking about Obama's win. "I've never been so patriotic!" She laughed. In honor of our future president she donned a blue suit and tie plus red, white and blue stilettos. "I'm just beyond excited," Beyonce, who's in Japan promoting her upcoming release 'I Am...Sasha Fierce,' said. The diva cut her trip short to experience the historic election results at home.

The singer/actor is also planning on attending the inauguration. "I'm there. I can't wait. I feel like all of us, we're ready to do whatever we have to do. Whatever they want - if they need me to volunteer, they need me to sing, I'm there, and I'm ready," she said.

Diddy, Russell Simmons React to Obama Victory

In what has turned out to be one of the most historic elections in our country's history, Sen. Barack Obama became the nation's fist black president. Mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs has been among the most vocal members of the hip-hop community showing his support for Obama.

"I felt like my vote was the vote that put him into office. It was down to one vote, and that was going to be my vote. And that may not be true, but that's how much power it felt like I had," he said. Election day also marked Diddy's 39th birthday. "I'm not trying to be dramatic, but I just felt like, Martin Luther King, and I felt the whole civil rights movement, I felt all that energy, and I felt my kids," he said. "It was all there at one time. It was a joyous moment."

In a campaign that was heavily endorsed by members of the entertainment world, other members of the hip-hop community also showed their excitement about Obama's victory. "The vision of the hip-hop generation and its young people is in full and glorious effect," Russell Simmons said in a statement. "While many older Americans, who marched and struggled so hard so Senator Obama could run for president of the United States never dared to believe in his candidacy's real potential, young people, particularly the hip-hop community, had faith and their imagination became our reality."

Nas Records 'Election Night' Hours Before Decision 2008

As our nation storms the polls to vote for our next president, Nas follows up 'Black President' with 'Election Night,' a hopeful track encouraging Americans to "surprise us and let a Black man guide us." The Queensbridge, N.Y. rapper recorded the track, which features snippets of presidential hopeful Barack Obama's moving speeches, earlier today.

Nas admits this is his first time exercising his right to vote and sympathizes with Obama as he rhymes: "He gotta deal with grandma dying from cancer/ No time off/ No days off or nights to sleep/ He ain't even got time to weep."

The emcee joins a long list of musicians and celebrities who continue to rally behind the Illinois senator, even down to the last few hours before the polls close. Diddy, Jay-Z and Mary J. Blige attended Monday's 'Promote the Vote' rally in North Philadelphia to encourage all those in attendance to get out and vote in today's election.

Beyonce Says Obama is the 'American Dream'

With Election Day just one day away, Beyonce admits that she's been inspired and impressed with the global attention surrounding this year's presidential election, specifically the growing international focus on Barack Obama's road to the White House.

Q-Tip Plans Election Night Celebration

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama has been cautious about his poll lead, warning supporters not to presume anything. But one Barack believer is already planning the victory party. "I am doing a party in New York at a place called Santos where I usually spin at on Fridays, but I'm making it Tuesday," Q-Tip tells the Boombox. "So we're gonna have a huge screen, we're gonna watch Obama win, Apple is bringing in some computers, we're gonna be talking to people around the world from there, celebrating Obama's victory."

The possible victory though isn't the only cause for partying, as Q-Tip is also releasing 'The Renaissance,' his first album of new material to make it to fans (two other albums never saw the light of day) in nine years. Between the two, it's a big day for Tip. But ironically, while he samples Obama on the track 'Shaka,' it wasn't intentional to release the album on Election Day. "Well, it wasn't deliberate. I didn't pick this day; the label, I guess, they picked it," he says. "I didn't even realize it was Election Day until later on."

But he does appreciate the symmetry between the two events. And besides Tip's artistic rebirth on the new album and America's entering a new era, he sees definite similarities between himself and the possible Commander in Chief.
