A Peek at Madonna's 'Hard Candy' Sounds Sweet With Help From Timbaland, Timberlake

Pop diva Madonna gets some help from hip-hop super-producers Timbaland and the Neptunes' Pharrell Williams on her upcoming album, 'Hard Candy,' due April 29.

The singer's follow-up to 2005's disco smash 'Confessions on a Dancefloor' brings her back to the clubs, but this time with a hip-hop/R&B vibe. The expected first single, 'Four Minutes,' features vocals from Justin Timberlake, who will induct Madonna into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 10. Madge once again delves into rapping (see the awkward "latte" and "Pilates" rhymes on 'American Life'), but this time out the singer rhymes about "reinvention" over a tough, bass-heavy track, courtesy of Timbaland and Nate "Danja" Hills.

Pharrell adds some flavor to the diva's new project on the track 'Give It to Me,' which features a signature Neptunes spacecraft breakdown mid-track. The singer mellows out on the acoustic-tinged ballad 'Miles Away.' As the title suggests, the pop star sings about long-distance love and cries, "When I'm gone, you realize I'm the best thing that's happened to you."

While there are no official tour plans, fans can expect the superstar to unveil new material at intimate venues in Paris, London and New York.

"I'll never forget the first time I saw you perform. I'd never in my life saw a woman so powerful, so fearless, so fabulous ... and those legs!"

Beyonce and Turner will join a slew of previously announced performers including Aretha Franklin, Mary J. Blige, Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Fergie, John Legend, Josh Groban, Andrea Bocelli, Feist, Foo Fighters, Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood.

Akon Celebrates Grammy Nods, Amy Winehouse

Thursday's Grammy nominations were good to Akon, who, in addition to announcing nominees racked up four nods for himself. "I wasn't surprised by the nomination," he told PopEater. "I was surprised by four nominations. I was like, 'Yo, if I get one I'm good.' To have four is crazy."

As if the impressive number of nominations weren't enough of a thrill. Akon also got the one he most wanted. "Best R&B Album -- that's the one I prayed for," he said. "And I was just happy to be nominated. That just shows how far you've really come. Everything that you've done -- anything that you've accomplished -- has now been manifested with people recognizing your true talent. I always thought I was talented, but no one ever feels the way you feel. Everyone thinks they're the best, so this is huge."

Of his fellow nominees, Akon was particularly excited for Amy Winehouse. "I was surprised to see how big of a night it's going to be for Amy Winehouse," he said. "She's definitely one of them artists where I saw myself in [her]. We got brand-new music, brand-new sound, [and] it's taken a minute for people to understand it."

Chris Brown Opens Up About Growing Up With Abuse

Pop sensation Chris Brown recently admitted to witnessing and experiencing abuse for six years of his childhood, according to I'mNotObsessed.com.

"I don't want to mention the person's name -- it wasn't my real father -- but somebody hurt my mom and me, I had to deal with that from seven all the way to 13," Brown confessed. "It affected me, especially [my behavior] towards women -- I treat them differently. I don't want to put a woman through the same thing that person put my mom through."

It's not clear what sparked the singer/dancer's announcement, but Brown is not shying away from expressing the effect the abuse had on him.

"I was scared and timid when I was little. I used to pee in my bed... I think it was me being nervous, and scared to get up [out of bed] and see what was going on," Brown said. "My mom used to try and hide it from me and my sister, but we knew. Anybody that's going through it, just try to deal with it, talk it out."
