A Peek at Madonna's 'Hard Candy' Sounds Sweet With Help From Timbaland, Timberlake

Pop diva Madonna gets some help from hip-hop super-producers Timbaland and the Neptunes' Pharrell Williams on her upcoming album, 'Hard Candy,' due April 29.

The singer's follow-up to 2005's disco smash 'Confessions on a Dancefloor' brings her back to the clubs, but this time with a hip-hop/R&B vibe. The expected first single, 'Four Minutes,' features vocals from Justin Timberlake, who will induct Madonna into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 10. Madge once again delves into rapping (see the awkward "latte" and "Pilates" rhymes on 'American Life'), but this time out the singer rhymes about "reinvention" over a tough, bass-heavy track, courtesy of Timbaland and Nate "Danja" Hills.

Pharrell adds some flavor to the diva's new project on the track 'Give It to Me,' which features a signature Neptunes spacecraft breakdown mid-track. The singer mellows out on the acoustic-tinged ballad 'Miles Away.' As the title suggests, the pop star sings about long-distance love and cries, "When I'm gone, you realize I'm the best thing that's happened to you."

While there are no official tour plans, fans can expect the superstar to unveil new material at intimate venues in Paris, London and New York.

Tina Turner, Beyonce to Share Stage at Grammys

R&B/pop diva Beyonce will share the stage with six-time Grammy winner Tina Turner at the Grammy Awards on Sunday. The 26-year-old has admitted to being a fan of the leggy legend.

"Every now and then when I think of inspiration, I think of the two Tinas in my life -- that's my mother, Tina, and, of course, the amazing Tina Turner," Beyonce said before launching into a rousing performance of Turner's 'Proud Mary' at the 2005 Kennedy Center Honors. "I'll never forget the first time I saw you perform. I'd never in my life saw a woman so powerful, so fearless, so fabulous ... and those legs!"

Beyonce and Turner will join a slew of previously announced performers including Aretha Franklin, Mary J. Blige, Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Fergie, John Legend, Josh Groban, Andrea Bocelli, Feist, Foo Fighters, Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood.

Janet Jackson's 'Discipline' - Under the Covers

Janet Jackson is back ... in more ways than one. Her newest single 'Feedback' is burning up the charts, and there's no doubt that her latest album cover is burning up computer screens around the world.

Akon Celebrates Grammy Nods, Amy Winehouse

Thursday's Grammy nominations were good to Akon, who, in addition to announcing nominees racked up four nods for himself. "I wasn't surprised by the nomination," he told PopEater. "I was surprised by four nominations. I was like, 'Yo, if I get one I'm good.' To have four is crazy."

As if the impressive number of nominations weren't enough of a thrill. Akon also got the one he most wanted. "Best R&B Album -- that's the one I prayed for," he said. "And I was just happy to be nominated. That just shows how far you've really come. Everything that you've done -- anything that you've accomplished -- has now been manifested with people recognizing your true talent. I always thought I was talented, but no one ever feels the way you feel. Everyone thinks they're the best, so this is huge."

Of his fellow nominees, Akon was particularly excited for Amy Winehouse. "I was surprised to see how big of a night it's going to be for Amy Winehouse," he said. "She's definitely one of them artists where I saw myself in [her]. We got brand-new music, brand-new sound, [and] it's taken a minute for people to understand it."

Chris Brown Opens Up About Growing Up With Abuse

Pop sensation Chris Brown recently admitted to witnessing and experiencing abuse for six years of his childhood, according to I'mNotObsessed.com.

"I don't want to mention the person's name -- it wasn't my real father -- but somebody hurt my mom and me, I had to deal with that from seven all the way to 13," Brown confessed. "It affected me, especially [my behavior] towards women -- I treat them differently. I don't want to put a woman through the same thing that person put my mom through."

It's not clear what sparked the singer/dancer's announcement, but Brown is not shying away from expressing the effect the abuse had on him.

"I was scared and timid when I was little. I used to pee in my bed... I think it was me being nervous, and scared to get up [out of bed] and see what was going on," Brown said. "My mom used to try and hide it from me and my sister, but we knew. Anybody that's going through it, just try to deal with it, talk it out."

Janet Jackson to Release New Album in February

Pop superstar Janet Jackson is gearing up to release her upcoming as-yet-untitled album in February. Jackson is currently working on the album in Atlanta, while longtime boyfriend, producer Jermaine Dupri, lends a hand to Mariah Carey's forthcoming project.

In addition to dropping a new album, Jackson also plans to pen a book about her personal weight struggles. "[I'm] really coming from the soul with it," Jackson said of the project, "and what I was going through at different times in my life, and what possibly brought it about for myself."

The 41-year-old has also been keeping busy with movie roles, including her recent role in Tyler Perry's film ' Why Did I Get Married?'

Whitney Houston Takes a Stab at Another Comeback

Pop diva Whitney Houston will attempt to make yet another comeback at the Live & Loud music festival taking place November 23 to December 2, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Houston was scheduled to make her original comeback at the Swarovski Fashion Rocks event in London on October 18, but canceled at the last minute due to health issues.

The songstress will join former American Idol finalist Elliott Yamin, R&B artifacts K-Ci & Jojo, and reggae singer Shaggy, among others.

Houston is scheduled to take the stage on December 1.

Snoop Gets Spooked by Amy Winehouse

Snoop Dogg, the host of this year's MTV Europe Music Awards, stopped by to meet Amy Winehouse an hour and a half before the show began. What the D-O-double-G found when he arrived at her dressing room scared the hell out of him.

The rap icon walked in to discover what the Mirror called "thousands of pounds' worth of damage to her dressing room." According to the British tab, Winehouse threw a plate of spaghetti bolognese, fruit, tables and chairs across the room. Even the carpet was torn to shreds.

A member of Snoop's entourage said that the rapper was shocked by Winehouse's behavior. "He was pretty freaked out by it and didn't want to hang out with her after that." After her outburst, the beehived star performed at the award show, delivering what most observers would say was a less-than-stellar performance of 'Back to Black.'

Kevin Federline Lands a Job on 'One Tree Hill'

Kevin Federline is full of surprises. The former backup dancer, who once ranked on our list of music's most embarassing dads, turned out to be the arguably more stable parent in a nasty custody battle with ex-wife Britney Spears. To occupy the rest of his time, the Fed-Ex is trying his hand at acting.

Federline made his acting debut on 'CSI' and now the 'PopoZao' rapper is taking on a recurring role on the CW teen drama 'One Tree Hill.' K-Fed impressed the cast and crew when he filmed an upcoming guest spot. Currently, Federline is only slated for two episodes, but the open-ended storyline could allow for more appearances.

Federline, who's 'Playing With Fire' album wasn't exactly a chart topper, has decided to put his music career on hold to focus on his passion for acting. TMZ reported that K-Fed would only agree to film the show if the schedule worked with his custody arrangements and court appearances. He made it very clear that he would not be available if his shooting time decreased his daddy time.

Fugees' Pras Worries for Lauryn Hill's Mental Stability

While Fugees fans might be disappointed by Pras Michel's recent comments that the ground-breaking hip-hop group's plans to reunite for an album have fallen through, Michel tells Popeater his real concern is for former band mate Lauryn Hill. "I'm praying for Lauryn Hill," he says. "She went AWOL [and] to be honest with you, I don't really care as much as I do for her mental stability. It's more important for her to be mentally stable. She's like a little sister of mine. I'd much rather her mental be correct than be thinking about Fugee records."

Part of the rapper's empathy comes from his experience living on Los Angeles' Skid Row, which was the subject of a documentary of the same name. "It changed my life," he says of the experience. "Living down on a sidewalk and panhandling gave me a different perspective on life. That's why I can sit here and tell you the Fugees don't mean much compared to her mental health."

Perhaps the experiences Michel -- who will release a new single in two weeks, followed by the album 'Pop Life' in February -- has had with Hill, give him insight into reportedly troubled pop stars. Prior to the MTV VMAs in Vegas, Michel went a little Nostradamus with his thoughts on Britney Spears. "I know Britney Spears is the big talk," he told Popeater at the time. "I hope she do her thing, but I think it gonna be a train wreck. That's my prediction."

Let's hope his concern for Hill yields better results.
